MUDRUNNER
The Ducks weathered the storm in the first period and came out on top. If the Sens ever give up hockey they sure would make a great swim team....some of the best dives i've seen in a while in last nights game. Guest Wackmaster17
I hate to say it, but i think it is over for the Sens. They just can't hold off the ducks for all 60 minutes and JS Giguere is playing like an MVP.

Well I guess you were watching another game:confused: I saw at least 2 hits from behind and the goalie was run over atleast 3 times....That being said Ottawa played a great 1st and then just plain old SUCKED in the 2nd and 3rd:mad:
MUDRUNNER
The Ducks do play sort of a "dirty" grinding game, and it looked to me like the officials made some pretty weak calls. In the first Getzlaf barely brushed Emery and Emery went flayling all over the ice and got the call on Getlaf. Before that, I believe it was Beuchamin, fluffed shoulders with Neil and he dropped to the ice like he was dying and got the call. Guest Wackmaster17
Well, the ducks beat the sens 6-2 in 5 games for the first Stanley Cup. Scott Niedermayer won the Conn Smythe trophy for the playoff MVP. It was a great season and hopefully next season will be just as good. (Hopefully the wild can get past the first round.) Guest Wackmaster17
Pist, VermontHunter, they're not the Anahiem Mighty Ducks any more, just the Ducks. I just wanted to let ya know. Anyway I will agree with ya that the Sens had a great year and the Ducks proved to be the best team in the league. I hope that next year the Wild can get passed the 1st round and if they play the Ducks again in the playoffs, payback. But now it is all about the entry draft. There is a lot of young talented players this year with a few that I have personally played against. I hope they all have long and exciting careers in the NHL. superguide
Saskman is out picking bottles in the ditches right now so he can buy me the biggest steak in Northern Sask.-once again a team with a European captain spit the bit. Alfredson did look real good taking a slapshot at Neidermaier-I just love a European hissy fit in a tough game lol. If the Ducks can keep their young guyts they'll be tough to beat. I will give one European credit though-Selanne- he deserved to hoist Lord Stanley.
Muff
Ok say what you want about Alfie and the shot...I agree it was a cheap shot...BUT...he really did lead the Sens to the cup final...he played great...to bad they ran into a team packed full of Canadians. Too bad you missed it! It was a great game with a great finish!!!! :) Another year where Ottawa was the more skilled team in a series and they were beaten by a team that out worked them! I think Ottawa probably should have won at least two cups by noiw with the teams that they have had, the big question will be how long will they be able to keep this team together under a salary cap???
