Guest andymansavage
I finally got a scope for my knight. I went with the simmons pro hunter 1x32. Here in Utah we can only use a 1x scope. The only problem I have had with 1x scopes in the past is that most are 1x20 and don't bring in much light or give a large sight picture. I really like the feel of this scope. It is a "high-end" simmons and they are really hard to find here. They usually go for around $135. Thank goodness for e-bay. I hope to shoot it this weekend. LETMGROW
Re: New scope!! Andy, I'm a little concerned about how far back you have that scope mounted. Looks like a black eye in the making but I hope I'm mistaken.
Guest andymansavage
Re: New scope!! Ha ha. I knew that someone would say that and thanks for your concern. The reason is twofold. First , on this style of knight the action is pulled back towards the shooter, basically taking up 3 more inches of eye relief than in the position shown in the pic. Secondly , my right eye is about 20/200 and my left is 20/20. With both eyes open I can see fine , but when I close my left eye it gets bad. Since my right eye is still my dominant eye , I have two choices. A , I could wear a contact or glasses in the field , no thanks. B , move the scope back a little and adjust the parallax all the way. I have always chosen option B and have yet to smack my face (knock on wood). I hope that this clears it up and I appreciate the caution.
