Indoor target Boring ?

for some people it might be at first. but for many of us, it is a thrill to try and duplicate 60 shots in a row. its a serious head game and takes complete concentration and focus to perform well.

i was the same at first, i said why do it want to shoot them dots. im just a bowhunter and i like to aim at deer and turkey targets.

then i shot my first tournament shooting spots. i was hooked. the adrenaline running through me, the anxiety, the anticipation, the shakes, all hit me. it was like trying to pull off a shot on a big buck. grin.gif

i loved it. sure i wasnt that good at first, im not really that good now, but im getting better. each season i learn something new to help me gain a few extra Xs. wink.gif

Indoor target shooting translates into making me a better shooter at 3d and for bowhunting and bowhunting is extremely important to me. i feel we as bowhunters need to be as accurate as possible. shooting Indoor target and practiceing shooting form and shot execution will help out in the long run.

Shoot Strong

Tony, I couldn't agree more. Shooting spots or any other form of controlled archery does, indeed, improve your skills. Concentration becomes better, confidence improves, and familiarity with your equipment becomes a major advantage. All this translates into a more efficient hunter.

As for spots as a separate discipline, there's nothing like reaching various milestones for self satisfaction - first 300, first 40x game, first 50x, and onward. I don't see how it can be anything but rewarding.

And you get to shoot with a lot of nice people, too. smile.gif

lol dg!

I love it. The competition is pretty good here having 3 pros to shoot against. Ken Likens is pretty hard to beat, he averages about 59 x's and the other two shoot no worse than 56 or 57. But its fun to shoot against people that good. I can shoot 56 on a really good round but usually shoot around 53. But even when those guys aren't around I enjoy it. No excuses like yardage, wind, rain, sun, etc., to lean on, just you and your bow.
