Guest richlaw
I purchased the Thompson Center Omega and I would like to know what the best bullet weight, powder amount and manufacturer to use to get the optimum results out of the gun. I am hunting whitetails at longer ranges...150-200 yd. range.

Guest bowhunter56
Re: Muzzleloader Question Each gun/barrel is different, my experience as been that you have to find what the barrel likes, it may take trying different powder charges, i get good groups from 245 powerbelt bullets, with 97 grains of loose 777 powder,
tped
Re: Muzzleloader Question You have to play with your gun to find the best load that works for you. My Encore and Omega both shoot a 250 grain Barnes expander bullet in front of 120 grains of loose triple 7 at over 2200fps and 1" groups all day long. A couple of my buddies have encores that shoot that same load equally as well and a couple that won't. Half of the fun is working up the load. wtnhunt
Re: Muzzleloader Question Welcome to the forums. Part of the fun of muzzleloading for me anyways is working up the loads. Would suggest if you have not already, read the bluelk ml chapters. Some great info in there. Best load I had found for my tc black diamond was 120 grains of loose pyro powder using a 240 grain tc xtp mag. I am changing to american pioneer powder though and will be doing some shooting working up some loads this weekend.
