I've got a system that works just as well for only $20. I'll post some pics when I get home if I can get my computer there running.

I'm definitely interested in seeing your system. Please share more details and pix.

Here you go. Use very strong climbing rope. I used 9mm climbing rope from a rock climbing store 40 feet X $.45 foot and 2 feet of 6mm Prusik (sp) chord.

I made a noose (sp?) knot at the top and looped my line through it 2 times for strenght and put it about 3 feet above my stand. [image]Prusic2.JPG[/image] Drop the line to the bottom of the tree and tie it off again at the bottom. Then use your Prusik chord and tie a prusik knot around the main chord. I used a 4 loop prussik. Most climbers recomend at least 3. [image]Pursik.JPG[/image] [image]Prusic.JPG[/image] Tie your carabeener into the knot and your set. As you climb pull the knot over your head, but always let go of the knot as you climb. If you fall, your weight will immidiatly close the knot and stop you.

I found some rope at gander mt. that was strong enough to do this for around $10. Make sure it has a breaking strength of at least 3000lbs and working load of 550+ The prusik chord should be 2/3 the size of your main line.

I don't think lowes does.

The knot that ties the prusic together is sort of like two noose knots at each end of the rope. The guy at the outdoor store tied it for me.

I'll look on line to see if I can find it. I've tied the knot sence then. It's not real hard, but you have to really sinch it down hard.

Here you go. It's called a stoppers knot. I think the one he used was an overhand, but instead of the double, I think he used a triple. You will put one of these knots at each end of the chord. When you tie each end make sure the opposite end of the prusik chord is through the middle of the knot your tieing. Pull them down tight and then slide them both down so you have a loop.
