AJ
Re: 710 rifle This is not the first instance of this I have hear of. Unfortunately, the part is just plastic so I highly recommend being careful with it. I would replace the following parts: 14 Latch Spring 15 Latch Pivot Pin 16 Magazine Latch You have a couple options: 1. Call Remington and send the gun to them for repair. 1-800-243-9700, Mon.-Fri., 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Eastern 2. Take the gun to your local authorized service center for repair. They don't have one listed for IN though. I searched a couple places that sell factory parts and none of them list the magazine latch. Sorry. brad dryden
Re: 710 rifle I got off with remington and they said the nearest service station is in Illinois. So then thay said also Gander Mountain will also service them so that really stinks. Also they wont send out that part I have to have it taken to a service dept. WaCoyote
Re: 710 rifle Time to sell it at a pawn shop and take your loss. Get a 700 or a 7 next time. Sucks that such a reputable gun maker sells such junk!
brad dryden
Re: 710 rifle I was told that the reseaon they made it cheaper is to compete with some other rifle dont get me wrong I still like this gun it is a very nice shooting rifle. But if or when I get it fixed I may just keep it or sell it to fund me for a new remington shotgun.

LETMGROW
Re: 710 rifle I have a 710 I bought as a poor weather carry rifle. It has been good so far. It shoots very well and I have had no problems yet. I will take note though and be gentle with the magazine release especially in cold weather. I think I'll E-Mail Remington and advise them of the problem. If enough of us did , maybe they would take some action. I own several Remington rifles and would hope they [ Remington ] would listen. Thanks for the heads up. It may have saved a lot of us folks a headache!
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: 710 rifle Remington... no wonder they are trying to scam on health care for their workers. You can't take care of your workers if you sell junk! And now you know another reason why I do not own one.
rifleman25
Re: 710 rifle I own several Remington rifles but like beautiful wood and a high gloss blueing. I was going to buy a 710 in 30-06 to take Caribou hunting the last two seasons and my gun shop said he wouldn't sell me that gun. We talked about it and I worked the rough bolt some and settled on a Savage since I only wanted the gun for one hunt. Anyway I am shooting that savage again this fall in my elk hunt and my 2007 Spring bear hunt. I just fell in love with it. Nothing againt Remington but after handeling the 710 for just a few minuites in the shop I can't believe they would put such a cheap and chincy product out there. Once they quit making BDL rifles I'll be through with them.
