LifeNRA
We had a blast on Monday and Tuesday. But Tuesday was by far the best!!! Started on a 13 mile trip out of Indian River Inlet. I was never that far out in the atlantic! Seas were only 1-2 feet, still took the dramamine. Caught croakers, blues, I got one small flounder, and my buddy also got a stargazer, ugly fish but still cool. But once we got back in about 50-70 feet of water thats where the fun started! The other two guys live down there and they wanted only flounder, me on the other hand, ANYTHING THAT BITES! LOL! Well, the one got got a 4.5' sandshark I believe, and my eyes really perked up. So I started throwning cut bait from a blue we had earlier in the morning. Next thing that new baitcaster I bought started singing like crazy! That bait clicker was on fire! Turns out it was the same size shark as the other guys! MANNNNNNNNNN that was a great fight and a ton of fun! Never caught a 4.5' fish before! But I thought the battle was over once we got the fish in the net! BOY WAS I WRONG! Once that shark hit the floor it went NUTS!!! It was like the WWF just boarded the boat! All and all we had about 30 sharks that ranged from 12" to about 5 feet! The biggest one got away at the boat. But since you were only allowed one per vessal, they all got released un-harmed. For only fishing two days it was an awesome trip! I cant believe how much strength these fish have! Even the smaller ones were strong! I really have more respect for this type of fish! Spent eight nights in Fenwick Island, ate like a pig too! The other cool thing, they all have Yuengling Lager too! LOL! The bad thing, no pics!!! I never got any film for my waterproof camera! But that will not happen next year!
Guest Andrea
Re: SHARKS!!! NO PICS???????? Well then we don't believe you. JUST KIDDING!!! That sounds great. Those sharks are fun aren't they? We might be headed out to do the same this Friday. Did you keep a shark at all??? We usually tie them by the tail and pull them back to shore, instead of bringing them on board. Those things will tear the boat up!!!! I video taped my Dad fighting one for about 2 hours. That was so much fun. Better make sure you got your gut-buster on though for that long fight!!! Congrats on the catch!!!
