I have a Winchester Model94AE .30-30 that I deer hunt with. What suggestions do you all have for a scope? I plan to mainly use the gun for deep woods stand hunting and deer drives. I've started shooting the Hornady LeverEvolution for more velocity and distance. I will be shooting the rifle up to 200 (may be 250 yards). What do you all recommend? I'm looking to spend below $250 and would like to stay below $200.

I have a Simmons 3-9 on my AE 30-30.

I would go with a different brand if I had that cash but I would stay with the 3-9 for sure. No reason not to I guess.

My vote would go to Nikon as well. Don't think you'll find a Monarch for under $250...maybe even have a tough time finding a Buckmasters in that price range in a 3-9X40. Look at the Nikon Pro-staffs...cheaper dollar wise...but would hold up to your 94.

I've seen the Monarch for less than $200 on ebay and the buckmaster for @$275. Wal-Mart has the Monarch for $199 here

Looking at my dealer catalog now...pro-staff is going to run you around $120. Buckmaster, around $175 and the Monarch, right handy $250.

If you can get a Nikon Monarch for $199...may want to snag one up...thats around $40 under dealer cost. Ebay is a different story...however, never know what you may get or what kind of "seller" your dealing with.
