JaySee
I am either getting one or the other. I really like how they both feel and shoot but I have heard some things about the limbs with the tribute over on archerytalk. What do some of you guys think? Pros cons to either or them. Just looking for some other opinions.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I don't own either but from what I am seeing and hearing, its hard to beat the Switchback XT. Buddy has one and loves it!!
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I havent heard anything bad about the limb of the Tribute ... I personally like the feal of the bowtech over the mathews .... doesnt mean its a better bow ... the tribute is a very fast and very quiet bow .... I think both bows are very similar in there features ... if it were me I would go with the Tribute ... I talked to a local guy here who shoots for Bowtech and he says he doesn't know of a known problem with limbs on any Bowtech bows ... but like any bow out there Im sure that they have there problems ... you have to remember that ppl on AT dont usually come on there to praise the bows they usually common there to complain about them .... just a thought ... AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute Steve is right, there are some over at ArcheryTalk that would bash their own mother if she shot the competitors bow! It gets bad over there and I don't see why the moderators don't step in more to break up the bashing. What you need to do is shoot both and maybe PM guys on here that you know shoot bowtechs and mathews. Get inside insight because no matter what you will have guys with very negative comments then when something good happens they will shut up. Some will complain just to hear themselves. Either choice is going to make a great choice! Good luck!!

[/ QUOTE ] Very good advice. I shoot the Switchback and love it. Fast, quiet, and smooth, I don't think you would be disappointed. I have never shot the Tribute though.... Buddy has one and loves it!! [/ QUOTE ] I agree I have a Switchback XT and its the quickest and quitest bow that i have ever shot. My groups at 30 and 40 yrds have greatly improved. If you want something smooth and reliable get a Switchback XT
CDubWSR
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute Ill tell you this. The XT may be a hair quieter and a hair smoother... but really not much at all. BUT... that tribute will blow the doors off that XT any day of the week and i garantee that. One of my room mates and one of my buddies both shoot one. Both shoot 28" draws and both are well over 300 fps. Also my other roomate has a new Allegiance that has been crackerized and his bow shoots 331 and is dead quiet. The only reason for limb problems are b/c of people using the wrong presses and not pressing them correctly. Get a bowtech and take it to a good shop and you wont have a problem at all with the limbs. Colin
Guest Finn
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute Jaysee, welcome to Realtree. I'd recommend you shoot them both and pick the one you like best. You can't go wrong with either one! Me, I love my XT (mine didn't have doors to be blown off?) wheelin99xj
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I shot both and liked the tribute better than the switchback but I picked the allegiance over the others. Take advice of others and shoot both. Both are good bows. I think the above comment about bowtech limbs being a problem is people pressing them wrong. I haven't had any problem with my allegiance limbs. I think the new bows should be out in November from what I've heard you might wait and see what is new this year. Good luck and enjoy whichever bow YOU like the best.
JaySee
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute Thanks for all of the replys. I am going to shoot them both again and see what I think. I am leaning towards the xt just because it was amazingly smooth and quiet. I am not sure how much I care about the speed difference yet. when I shoot them again I will think about that. I also think I am going to wait until the 2007's come out in Nov from bowtech and see what they came up with. Thanks for all the help. preacherman
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I have the Switchback XT as well and love it. It is the first Mathews bow that I ever shot and the feel was great. I have never shot a Bowtech; but looked at them when I bought my Mathews. Like everyone else said, I would go and see what they have and shoot both of them and get what feels best to you.
Bownarow
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I don't know much about the Tributes limbs particularly but limb problems occur on all bow models. Limb problems are inherent with the parallel limb designs b/c the limbs now receive the majority of the bows vibration. I just recently had the limbs on my Outback replaced b/c one splintered two weeks before bow season opened. I got it replaced, no big deal. Shoot both these bows and see which one "feels" right in your hand.
tedicast
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I'm personally a Mathews shooter for life. but, You have to pick the bow that is best for you, not what someone else recomends. You can't go wrong with either bow.
Guest Oneshot7
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute since you can afford those make sure you shoot the trykon as well it might fit you better but pick the one that feels the beast always
Leo
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute If you decide you like the XT over the Tribute. Try Bowtechs Old Glory with the smooth mod. You might change your mind again

Pinwheel5
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I have shot both pretty often and I like the Tribute better. To me it is quieter, has a harder back wall, is faster and tunes easier. The XT is has less shock in the hand but I think that is due to the heavier weight. But, I would wait a a few more weeks and see about the 07's.
USAFbowhunter
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I have the Tribute and I love it. It is quiet, fast, and is lighter than my old bow. The noblest feature of the Tribute is its role in raising funds for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). Brianxt
Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute I shoot the switch backXT i love it .I have never shot a bow tech the switch back is very forgiving because of its long brace hgt. All that matters is how much confidence you have in your equipement and you abilty to shoot it.The deer dont care what kind of bow you shoot it with.
