TreeWalker Posted October 6, 2006 Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 I put up another camera, further up the creek bottom, to see if I could locate which direction he might be coming in from.......I got several of him in this new location.......here's the best one though.... And then in my regualr cam location, I switched out batteries, and somehow screwed up the date/time stamp........didn't know it till i was downloading the pics off of the memory card.....looks like I'll have to go and reset it this weekend........ This past Wednesday morning, I took a couple of hours off from work, cause we had a good soaker of a rain the afternoon before, so I figured the deer would be moving..........it was the closest I've had to a chance to close the deal on him so far.......I only needed about 10-15 more minutes before i would have had enough light......I mean as he came in I could see him with my naked eye, but there still wasn't enough light to see my pins (lighted pins are illegal here).........so like you said, one of these days, I will be catching him coming through just a little too late.......I don't know how much more I can stand, though LOL......I've seen him several times while on stand, and it's just killing me not to be able to wrap my hands around him and give a thanks to the Lord for creating such a fine animal.......... [ QUOTE ] .......and you can still praise the Lord for creating such a fine animal:) [/ QUOTE ] Oh, believe me I do.......when I saw him early Wednesady morning, and he had filtered off, I gave thanks just to be able see him.........and then to top it off for the morning, there's a rock pile on a hill behind me,.....maybe 80 yards off.......as the sun started to peak up, I started to look behind me, and there were two of the largest coyotes I have ever seen, standing on the rock pile, silhouetted against the sunrise.....I would have given anything to have had my camera with me......it would have been one of the prettiest pictures I ever took........but alas, it will have to remain in my head for future reflections........ Every time on stand, I shake my head in disbelief, that there are folks that don't believe in God our creator.....there's so much to just be in awe of, all you have to do is look around........people wonder how I can be in a stand for 12-14 hours somedays, it's because I try to look at and take in everything around me......there is alot of stuff we take for granted, that is for sure......... [/ QUOTE ] i agree %100 when i hear people start questioning God...im like are you serious...look around you...look at all this...this just wasnt here...some one had to create it...i remember when i killed my first deer...i had just got in the stand..and i remember sitting there thinking...wow this is amazing out here...i dont even care if i see a deer..this is beauitful...then all the sudden i looked over and there was a deer standing 20 yards...thanks to the good lord i made a good clean kill... Leroy is a dandy buck...i hope you get a shot at him and i hot the shot is perfect so you bring him down..Best of luck to you...keep us updated on him...hes a giant!
