Anyone familiar with G5 Optix sights?

I have the G5 Optix ME sight and it is camo clad in Realtree Hardwoods HD camo. The sight looks a bit more green that my Switchback which is also RT Hardwoods HD. Is it different?? How about the LE version of this sight. If you compare the pics of the two of them from Cabelas, the LE seems to match my bow camo better.

My current version (ME)

The LE version

Just wondering but how do you like the ME sight? I am in need of a new sight and was looking at this one. Does it work well in low light? Thanks

Ken,

Can you take it back to the store and compare with those on the shelf? I often look at different items of the same kind but with different looks to the camo pattern. Sometimes you different leaves or color to it. I would think they are all camo'd the same.

Contact G5, they will email you back with an answer, they are good about that!

Re: Anyone familiar with G5 Optix sights?

Ken,

I have the LE and the camo matches fine.

Its not a digital image like the Mathews camo which makes it look not as crisp but the colors match IMO.

Mine did not come with the light and I wondered if I wanted it.

At $26 it better be killer. LOL

I found I do need it when I hunted out of my ground blind.

The pins are nice in open sky, even till and past legal light, but in the woods (under a pine tree) or in my pop-up blind I lost the pins way to early.

I would say definitely as long as you have the light, there would be no problems. Due to me filling my archery tag before the sight came in the mail from Cabelas grin.gif, I haven't had the new sight in the woods yet.

Definately. It was a decent pin brightness without the light IMO but if your planning on hunting really low light situations, like inside a blacken pop up blind, or thick soft woods then I suggest you use the light.

On the morning of the full moon about 5am I could see my sight pins with no electric light if that tells you anything.

The blue LED light can only make it better.

I just bought one myself...

Great sights IMHO... cool.gif
