arrow32
Down on the farm we have found this big 10pt and a few good 8pts the guy the only guy that hunts down there hunts right off his flipping feeder! Im so mad. He got a huge buck last year due to this and it ticks me off. The guy i talked to at i dont even remember where said you could have feeders up and stuff just not hunt over them. What the heck!! There 4 years ago he shot 5 bucks off my uncles feeder and let some guy from work come shoot one. Im so mad right now i would like to go kick the crap out of him. I dont know what to do. I guess im just going to have to hope to god that he dont shoot that thing off a feeder.

deerslayer2295
Re: Just found out I think that there is a web siet you can go to, WVDNR to find out your answer about that. I don't like the idea of feeders either, to me thats just not hunting.

GWSmith
Re: Just found out I have that States Regulations Book Downloaded. All I can find so far is: Illegal to Bait or Feed Bear Illegal to Bait Cervids within the Containment Area(CWD) Page 9 also has a highlighted box that says: "Baiting and Feeding Regulations" See pages 14, 17, 19. and 21 (all of which have to do with the Hampshire County Containment Area) At this point I'm not finding anything that says you Cant hunt over a feeder...but as always your best bet is to call the local DNR Office and ask them. Guest gpshemi
Re: Just found out Here in michigan it's not that uncommon. Ethics aside. Considering CWD, isn't it better to hunt feeders then it is to hunt bait piles? Bait piles are a dime a dozen around here.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Just found out if its illegal make a phone call, if not, not much you can do. I see it this way, hunting is waiting and picking a spot where the deer might funnel through to a bedding or feeding area. Hunting over a bait pile or feeder is "waiting" Wait long enough and the deer will show up to eat. Hunt long enough and that deer might come your way. Determine which one makes a better story..... I sat in this Oak tree leading into a bedding area, thickest cover for deer I have ever seen but cow path run ways.... or this story..... He came in to my apples and corn and when he went to take a bite I let him have it...........

arrow32
Re: Just found out Very well put Lou. Its legal it just burns me. I have no problem with having them up and crap during season we do. But hunting right on them just aint right. We hunt a holler or two over from it. Just sucks i would rather kill a doe than a buck just because i was hunting on a feeder. Like you said makes a better story without the feeder. Brianxt
Re: Just found out It is no diffrent then hunting over a food that deer flock to.The deer decide when to come to that field just as good as they do to corn feeder or apples or a corn -soybean field or apple tree . [/ QUOTE ] Yes sir it is, because you work your butt off to put your food plots in, or at least i do. i can put corn out in a total of 10 minutes and for $6. but an acre food plot done right is gonna take around $100 and ten hours
