Joining Team Realtree?

Team Realtree

Recommended Posts

We have been throwing around the idea of some type of Team Realtree exclusive membership (a club or organization).

The reason being is that there are many folks out there who think we already have one. We get a lot of emails and letters wanting to know how to join Team Realtree.

The reason for this post is to get your feedback on the idea. Would you be interested? What would you expect form the membership? How much for a yearly membership?

As far as the benifits, here are my initial thoughts.

— A T-shirt, cap, and decal, exclusive to members (and shows that you are an official member of Team Realtree)

— A members only section of the forums (or website) that has insider/premium content (Pro-Staff Blogs, behind the scene video, etc.)

— A monthly "Insider" email newsletter.

— Exclusive discounts on "to be determined" products, etc.

These are just a few ideas I have come up. I figured posting it in here to get your ideas or suggestions would help and give you a say on how it would (or could) be created.

So let us know. Is this something you would be interested in? If so, what would you expect from this membership? If not, why?

I plan to meet with Bill and others later in the week and would like your thoughts from this thread to present at that time. Thanks, S

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I think that would be a great idea ... as far as cost I really dont know yet as to how much I would pay for something like that ... I guess it would depend on what all the benefits of joining were ... but based on other organizations I belong to I would think $20 to $30 dollar range would be a fair price for a exclusive club membership ... the T-Shirt cap & decal could be something that you earn by belonnging to the club or different levels of the club ... Im not sure you want to get into levels or not but you could have a basic that allows ppl to view blogs then another level that allows them a newsletter and then the eveything pack would get them everything including the behind the scenes video ... just some ideas I came up with right off after reading the post ...

Would be interested. I believe though that if you pay the membership you should be entitled to all the perks. Not by some level. Leveling tends to leave people out and just isn't good for business.

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Sounds good. $15 - 20 a year, that would cover the hat and a sticker and the exclusive website.

I'd just like to see the Pro-staff blogs and behind the scenes information.

If you need some help on this project, I retire from the Air Force in March of 2008. grin.gifwink.gif

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I think this is a great idea and I would definitely be interested. Depending on the extent of the benefits, I would think $30 would be a decent annual membership fee. On the application, you would probably want to ask about hunting/shooting interests, as well as, level/years of experience. I'm sure there is other information folks would want to share...I just can't think of anything else at the moment.

GREAT IDEA! cool.gif

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I like the idea as long as the fee is reasonable for everyone. Here are some initial thoughts that come to mind.

1. Who is going to run this operation? It will be tough full time job for someone to keep track of who is paid up and who is not. Plus someone has to Moderate this group.

— A T-shirt, cap, and decal, exclusive to members (and shows that you are an official member of Team Realtree) I have a Realtree Pro Staff hat already.

— A members only section of the forums (or website) that has insider/premium content (Pro-Staff Blogs, behind the scene video, etc.) What can be more premium than what we have already? We can go the Realtree.com Journals. As for Blogs, Michael Waddell spends more time in Archery Talk than he does here. Are you going to make them chat with us?

— A monthly "Insider" email newsletter. What would this include?? I thought that is what our "Announcement Room was for.

— Exclusive discounts on "to be determined" products, etc. Is this going to be sales on discontinued items that will not sell? Or can we have 10% off everything in the store?

Just my 2¢

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Exclusive member???? Sound's nice, but more of a novelty... Like you've said yourself, most people already perceive there to be a RT team, and with all of the gear around that displays the RT team logo, that is a logical perception.

Does RT really want to develop a line of clothes for RT TEam members (is it cost effective)?

How about an raffle or drawing for RT team members, for a hunt with the RT owner or celebreties, afterall, aren't we on this forum to share our love for the outdoors and hunting (so why not have a chance to hunt with these individuals?)

Quite honestly, the way the forum is now, suits me just fine, and since I never win raffles, a RT TEAM forum wouldn't benefit me a whole lot! lol

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Scott, The first thing that popped into my mind when I read your post was "Family, Friends, and the Outdoors". Thats not "Excluding" and anyone from any walk of life, or monetary means in life, they can be a part of "RealTree".

Would you be interested? Not in excluding anyone or making anyone feel like they are less than any other person who can buy a RealTree Camo Clothing Item.

What would you expect from the membership?Nothing...

In reality I believe a Discount Membership on Clothing and other items from the RealTree Store which also included a "Email Newsletter" would go over better.

How much for a yearly membership? Find the average amount that people buy from the store right now without a discount. Give the members of the discount purchasing club enough of a discount to cover cost plus 15%.

As far as the benifits, here are my initial thoughts.

— A T-shirt, cap, and decal, exclusive to members (and shows that you are an official member of Team Realtree) You already have that it's called "Pro Staff"...anything else is transparent and what would you call it "Pay Staff"???

— A members only section of the forums (or website) that has insider/premium content (Pro-Staff Blogs, behind the scene video, etc.) The more people you make feel special the more Clothing you will sell. If you can do this for "Special Paying Members"....do it for the average person and sell alot more RealTree Clothing while spreading the RealTree name a farther distance.

— A monthly "Insider" email newsletter.I think you will find most people dont even open the email newsletters from the businesses they have already subscribed to if the household bills are tight.

— Exclusive discounts on "to be determined" products, etc. If I'm paying to be a member there better be a discount on everything.

We understand that RealTree is a business and as such requires it's operation to make a profit.

In my honest opinion this "Paying Membership" should be for some type of Discount from the RealTree Store. Any other membership into RealTree that has to be paid for would be looked down upon as transparent by most who could not afford to buy there way in.

In my opinion in the end it would make RealTree look as if they were being Greedy which would ultimately cost the company more than what they would make off the "Pay Staff" members.

Make your money by getting more people into RealTree clothing. Offer a discount "Buyers Club" type membership to get more people into RealTree Clothing.....make more people feel like their a part of RealTree and Included in:

"Family, Friends, and the Outdoors"

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Not a bad idea..... I would probably join but it would probably need to be something in the line of Buckmasters. A magazine or some printable media that is mailed out wouldn't hurt. I would read it... I keep a couple of stack of mags around the house that I flip through and read often.

Also (not pushing infringement) but Buckmasters has the idea with the calls, knifes, etc. I think something more than a sticker and hat would be required. I can run down to academy sports and pick up a RT hat and RT Stickers for my truck for about $15 total. That probably wouldn't be enough to draw members.

Also, what about tacking say $10-$15 to the membership and sending out the vids to the members before they hit the shelf? I honestly thing that would be a HUGE selling point.

I know the guys get sick of signing autographs but I bet a signed photo(s) wouldn't hurt either.

For this to fly people will want to feel truly privileged.

When it boils down to it that seems like a lot to ask but there are other outdoor organizations doing it every day. Just my $.02........

YES

Decals, hat, magazine etc.

Would love to see occassional drawings or something of the sorts that allowed members to join a pro staffer in the field on a hunt.

Would also like it to be separate from the forums

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I think it would be a great thing to get going for the younger ages,I really think most older people kind of think a club is just a club, makes you no more realtree than the money you pay, to a kid it would be a great honor! I really think of if we had ways to get the younger kids involved it would be great, a great way to get kids who can not get the realtree show knowing about realtree and the camo and the shows! I am not sayign that it would not go over for adults to but i think most adults want to work with Bill, micheal and david lol! not join a club, for the kids there could be a autographed pic of the guys plus blogs ect, I think it would be a huge success!!just my 2 cents!! good luck with whatever decision is made!!

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

it seems to me you have a team real tree with these forums! what good is a hat and a sticker? like said before you can get thoughs anywhere. heck i just bought a team real tree hat last week! i think doing something with these forums would be the best! get the rt guys on here more often, plug the site in your movies and dvds, get the forum member logo thing going and start it with the people that have been contributing here! the posts on here and the conversations and the friends made on this site is what hunting and the outdoors is all about! once you hit a certain level in the forums then you could be eligable for gifts or what not. Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I would be interested, but definitely feel that there should be some behind the scenes footage, prep for hunts, setting up, tuning bows...whatever. Also I agreee with the exclusive merchandise and discounted prices for full members. I would love to see the room set up where we can chat with Mike, Bill and those guys. I mean, most of these guys are pretty loyal to this site and the products. (I just spent $75.00 more for a bow sight over the one that was adequate because the G5 came in Realtree Hardwoods HD). We are here because we like to be and that causes us to be loyal and spend more money. That I am sure helps keep the company doing really well. Added benefits for us would be a big plus! grin.gif

I would also like to see a family type inclusive thing as my son will soon be joining the forums (couple years yet, but I have been an active member for 3 years already). I wouldn't pay for him to be a member but sure would be interesting for the youths to have someone other than what is on tv to relate to. My son has autographed pics of Waddell, Jordan and Blanton hanging in his room and he is 6...he wanted them there! grin.gif
