Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I would say nay. Yes it would be nice to have a hat, shirt, or decal to let everyone know that we have a great place here. But I had rather buy these things to let people know instead of having a "group" of above the rest. I think it's just perfect the way it is, just one big happy family. I'm not saying I wouldn't join, but it just doesn't look as good to me if you have to pay a fee to be special.

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

My first thought was HECK YEAH I would be interest since i am like all of the rest of you very loyal to RT.

But then I read and thought....

I love the way the site currently is and its FREE!!!

If I want a realtree hat or shirt, I can go ANYWHERE and buy one.

Doenst RT already send out a monthly email news letter...

I would love to talk with the Realtree boys and other celebs but I dont know if I wanna make them talk to me aka me pay a fee to be able to talk to them.

I have visited with all of them several times at BP or Cablea and there they are always very friendly a blast to be around and that doesnt cost me anything.

In order for me to really be excited and want to pay a fee there would have to be some great benefit, what is that....I dont know.

But will be interesting to see what ya guys come up with!!!

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Sorry, but I thought we as Realtree forum members were already a family or team.

Does Realtree need money that bad?

Why divide the Realtree forums family into cliques?

I wouldn't mess with something that has already proved that it works.

We already have the best hunting forums on the Internet, and I can't see any good reasons to divide it.

I don't want to force Michael, Bill and David to talk to us just cause we paid money. It cheapens it. It's like they are forced to because we paid to have a conversation when they'd rather be somewhere else. Obviously they don't want to

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Where to I sign up? I would love to be a member of the team. Maybe sometime down the road a Team Realtree member can get the chance to hunt with a Pro Staff member. You can put all the members names in a hat and draw out a name, that lucky hunter gets a hunt of his or her lifetime hunting with Bill, David, or Michael. That would be cool.

There has to be incentives to join and it has to be a fairly reasonable membership charge, like $25.00 or under. I hate to see people left out because of the membership fee even though membership would have its priviledges.

Someone else also said to have the Realtree Pro Staffers chat more than us, it makes me mad when I have to go to archerytalk.com to see a Waddell post or hear about he and Ashley having twins and no mention on here about it. Why promote that site when this site is Michael's Employer? I don't think its called ArcheryTalk's Roadtrips? LOL! smile.gif Get the Pro Staffers to come in more and chat with all of us.

This site needs to also get into donating more prizes or contests to get hunters checking it out more. When I first joined that hidden letter and number game was addicting and at times frustrated the heck out of me but it make me like the site and kept me as a member. You have to appeal to the youth hunters out there and not what Farbman thinks his WHA will do. Realtree has great standards and a lot of creative minds running it and on here to help make it the greatest hunting site on the internet.

Good luck!

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I think it would a pretty good idea. $20 sounds about right. Having access to behind the scenes, out takes, and maybe bloopers in the filming or some of the regular "Going ons" would be enticing. Keeping the interest in the club in coming years would be the challenge. Having a single, "Members Only" forum next to the Lounge or something would be cool.

I like the idea as long as the fee is reasonable for everyone. Here are some initial thoughts that come to mind.

1. Who is going to run this operation? It will be tough full time job for someone to keep track of who is paid up and who is not. Plus someone has to Moderate this group.

— A T-shirt, cap, and decal, exclusive to members (and shows that you are an official member of Team Realtree) I have a Realtree Pro Staff hat already.

— A members only section of the forums (or website) that has insider/premium content (Pro-Staff Blogs, behind the scene video, etc.) What can be more premium than what we have already? We can go the Realtree.com Journals. As for Blogs, Michael Waddell spends more time in Archery Talk than he does here. Are you going to make them chat with us?

— A monthly "Insider" email newsletter. What would this include?? I thought that is what our "Announcement Room was for.

— Exclusive discounts on "to be determined" products, etc. Is this going to be sales on discontinued items that will not sell? Or can we have 10% off everything in the store?

Just my 2¢

Interesting idea Scott, but got to agree with Ranger here. This forum is already the best, a secret club only for those who are willing to pay, honestly I am just not so sure I like that idea.

steve, i think we're already there. it's called the realtree forums. a pretty exclusive club. now, all we need are some of luke's window decals, and the ride is on....

Scott, stevebeilgard has my same thoughts... I would probably pay to join, if I got a good magazine like Jeramie says, and some things like the knives, etc. Also - discounts on all realtree clothing would be necessary for me to pay dues and join up. -Matt

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

I think it would be a great idea. Especially if there

were local chapters and Realtree and members

would get involved in the communities to promote

hunting.

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

Wow…

I think some of us in the Realtree Forums are going a little overboard.

The Realtree Forums is place where people with at least one thing in common gather on the Internet, and discuss the subjects that interest them.

Some of you are acting like Realtree is an entity that qualifies its members as some sort of hunting guru.

Realtree is a company that designs patterns for camouflage.

Realtree sells some products through Gray Loon Marketing Group, Inc.

Realtree, to my knowledge, has no actual product that anyone can buy that is actually manufactured by Realtree.

If you want a product with Realtree Camouflage you must buy a product that has paid to use their pattern.

If a company wishes to produce any item with the Realtree pattern they pay to use the pattern.

It simply gives the buyer a choice of patterns they did not have before Realtree came along.

Do you really think that Realtree manufactures anything?

Whether the item is Hats, T-shirts, Drink Cozies, Boots, Pants, Overalls, Chairs, Curtains, Window Stickers or Decals, Bows, Rifles & Guns, some other company manufactured the item for sale.

Realtree Inc. furnishes the forums as a part of their web-site.

May I remind you that the web-site is advertising in itself?

If I choose to buy a rifle that has a “Realtree Pattern”, I have already paid more than the “Plain Jane” version of the same item. It’s my choice.

If I purchase hunting apparel in the “Realtree Patterns”, I have paid more than some off brand camo would have cost me. Again it was my choice.

And many of us here in the Realtree Forums are willing to pay even more just to say we are fans of the Realtree Camouflage patterns?

I think it’s time to get real, not necessarily Realtree.

I think the world of Michael Waddell, and think he is a real showman as well as being very dedicated to the products that sponsor his Roadtrips Show; but how long would that dedication last if Dollarflauge offered him three times the money? I could just about bet the show would be renamed Dollarflauge Roadtrips, quicker than that bobble-headed-buck could rub his tree.

I like the forum family here, and see no reason to divide it.

If you had said that "ALL Proceeds" would be going to Disabled Hunters of North America, Hunters Helping Hunters, Hunt of a Lifetime Organization , or any charitable organization, I would have said," Count me in" in a heartbeat; but you never said that.

Re: Joining Team Realtree?

i think its a good idea, but its i feel a little too late, because you already have this website and forums that people have a "name" for and password, that means they are apart of this...Real tree, and i feel like you might run some people off, the easy accesability to this is great, you shouldve implemented this when the website first started the forums, members only that sort of thing, but i feel like the pro blogs and official gear would be cool, good idea....think about the timing, or other issues that may arise!!!good luck im 100 % real tree already
