doughboy1956
Re: Joining Team Realtree? I found these great forums because the site i was on started this money thing. I did,nt mind paying the money but it started a rift as was mentioned before. People felt left out and even some of the paying one,s were getting access is denied pop ups because you don,t live here or have not been on here 5 years ot more etc: Then all the marketing started with adds to buy memberships blah, blah, blah. Have to be very careful were this goes.IMUO

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Joining Team Realtree? [ QUOTE ] Where to I sign up? I would love to be a member of the team. Maybe sometime down the road a Team Realtree member can get the chance to hunt with a Pro Staff member. You can put all the members names in a hat and draw out a name, that lucky hunter gets a hunt of his or her lifetime hunting with Bill, David, or Michael. That would be cool. There has to be incentives to join and it has to be a fairly reasonable membership charge, like $25.00 or under. I hate to see people left out because of the membership fee even though membership would have its priviledges. Someone else also said to have the Realtree Pro Staffers chat more than us, it makes me mad when I have to go to archerytalk.com to see a Waddell post or hear about he and Ashley having twins and no mention on here about it. Why promote that site when this site is Michael's Employer? I don't think its called ArcheryTalk's Roadtrips? LOL! Get the Pro Staffers to come in more and chat with all of us. This site needs to also get into donating more prizes or contests to get hunters checking it out more. When I first joined that hidden letter and number game was addicting and at times frustrated the heck out of me but it make me like the site and kept me as a member. You have to appeal to the youth hunters out there and not what Farbman thinks his WHA will do. Realtree has great standards and a lot of creative minds running it and on here to help make it the greatest hunting site on the internet. Good luck! [/ QUOTE ] I have reconsidered this whole deal, bad idea if you ask me. You already market items with "Team Realtree" on them, why make it a membership deal? Does the Brinks truck have to make another visit to Realtree Farms? What chaps me too is you want to promote this site and to me its the best site out there but your Pro Staff will visit another sites and chat there and ignore the one that make him what he is today. Why join Team Realtree and get special perks like chatting with Pro Staffers when I get to go to Archerytalk.com for free and do it?!! What makes this site what it is is the people, not everyone can afford to be part of an annual membership nor want to. Then if you make it in the back of their mind they will be thinking, "what am I missing out on?" With all the stuff I have that is in Realtree camo and says Team Realtree on it I feel I am part of the team, if you want a "true" Team Realtree member to pay an annual membership fee then count me out, I will leave this forum all together and make friends elsewhere. How can the slogan be Family, Friends and the Outdoors when it sounds like Family, Friends, and Green Backs!!!! No thanks, lousy idea!! Newarcher
Re: Joining Team Realtree? Bad idea all together.... If there wasn't already a "team realtree" logo on virtually everything you sell, you might use 'team realtree'. But how will the real and true team realtree merchandise for paying members be distinguished....."No really, we mean it this time...TEAM REALTREE". Likewise, if you create paying member sevices via the website, I will leave. I buy your camo, watch your shows, support your advertisers, buy your DVD's, increase your ad revenue via the website with all my click, isn't that enough? Even if the forums were still free, it would anger me to see posts about "did you guy see that article on the paying site?" If you threw in two fully paid hunts with a Realtree member (Michael, David, or Bill) and raffled them off for members, that is some real benefit and I might join then. But to pay more money to wear advertising for your product, nah, thanks but no thanks. You get ad revenue from the clicks by the forum members and the people searching your products and reading your articles.....that should be enough. Now if there was some designation for reaching monster buck where you get some special merchandise, that would be fine with me. The people who make 2,000 posts have certainly helped generate plenty of revenue for you from the website advertisers. New
Guest HNTR4LF
Re: Joining Team Realtree? i do agree with you in that its akward to pay to advertise their camo but i do like the idea of all expense paid hunt and magazines.bout the forum, if you dont like ppl talkin bout articles from the paying customers magazines then become a payin customer so you can talk about them to.and if you cant afford $20 a year then you probaly shouldnt be buying hunting gear or the internet. M00N
Re: Joining Team Realtree? I don't like the idea of a separate section of the forums that you have to pay to talk in. I feel that'd make the forums split in two. It'd be kind of like the neighborhood I live in, uptown is where all the fancy rich houses are and downtown is the section that has all the not rich houses. The town spends our tax money mostly on the uptown (because they have more money to take), while the downtown gets the leftovers. I can see that happening to these forums if there was one section that the paying people could see and another that the non-paying would get stuck in. All the activity would be focused up in that special section while the other section would get the leftovers and less attention from official 'Realtree' individuals. Has anyone taken into consideration that some of the people on these forums are possibly youths with no income or on adults on a disability or low-income budget and don't have the money to be blowing on special rights to some forum to gab in or listening to some pro get paid to talk in? I surely wouldn't pay for this service when on that kind of income. I'd much rather save my money for hunting gear, that I can actually physically use, than pay to gab and read gossip in a special section of the forums. Heck I'd probably just up and leave maybe even stop buying Realtree camo items because I'd feel like they really don't care about the youth, disabled, or not-so-rich individuals, but instead just the money they can make off people. What I do think is a good idea, however, is if you want to do a special club that you pay to join, where people who are members would receive special things. A good magazine to their door that isn't bloated with advertisements, special sneak peeks to trailers from upcoming Realtree sponsored videos that they can watch online, special ability to view bloopers from Realtree sponsored videos, and special access to enter each month in a monthly "members only" drawing that gives away useful hunting gear, not causalwear or logowear items like the Team Realtree stuff, that have Realtree camo on them. Changing the forums in such a way that will split it down the middle, and possibly push out those of us that are not on good incomes or disabled, sounds like a horrible business move to me for Realtree. You're more likely to make enemies or lose customers, especially the not-so-rich and disabled, and push them away to a competitive company instead, like Mossy Oak. They will feel like they are being separated out by how rich they are and how much profit Realtree can make from them instead of treated like equal human beings that love the sport of hunting and happen to like the Realtree camo patterns on their clothing, or the Realtree hunting videos in their VHS/DVD players. Just my two cents. Coming from someone who is looking at going on a disability income here soon and who would end up taking every extra cent she got just to get enough money for the gear each year to continue to go out hunting. From someone who came to these forums to not only support Realtree brand camos as her favorite hunting camo pattern on her clothing, but meet others that enjoy the same thing. From someone who couldn't afford to pay to continue to use these forums, as she pays enough already to buy Realtree camo hunting clothing instead. Newarcher
Re: Joining Team Realtree? Or has anyone ever considered that some people on these forums have families and while $20 or more isn't going to break them, they are well past getting a warm fuzzy from seeing a sticker on their window that says "sucker who paid to advertise for someone else's company"? If there was some real benefit to me as a consumer to paying $20 or more to join the "realtree club" well then it would be worth it. But to get some newsletter that makes no difference to anyone and tiny discounts on overprised merchandise to be named in the future....not worth it to me. Some people are into that sort of thing.....some club that allows them to wear around a shirt or hat sporting some slogan that frankly no one really cares about. I am not. Age tends to do that to people where the look at that $20 and say "are you kidding me?". New
