all i can say is Iowa is Realtree country . we have plenty of hardwoods HD and the green here in our walmarts.

i prefer Hardwoods or the new Hardwoods HD because it fits perfect with my back cover in my treestands.

Re: Camo! what\'s your perfered choice?

I've always been a Realtree fan.

Being an artist myself, I look at their camo as a work of art. The best in the country.

The new HD looks great, but it will be a few years before it ever surfaces up in this neck of the woods. I've been seeing bits and pieces like gloves and hats in HD, but no clothing yet to speak of. mad.gif

Re: Camo! what\'s your perfered choice?

I have and used many different patterns of camo over the years, From tie dyed jeans to earthtone plaids. One of my favorites is the original Treebark after it has faded from use. Best in the leafless trees of late fall and winter. I also liked Kelly Cooper's Tru-leaf who had a green for spring and early fall and a brown that was second to none when the leaves began to turn.

Military greens with its blacks, tans and browns is used by the military for very good reason. There mideast theater desert patterns are awesome in corn and open brushy areas. Nat Gear does well in these areas also.

I find myself at odd's with most of today's patterns being just a bit too dark. I try and match what I wear to the type of cover I am hunting. I don't often wear matching tops and bottoms as well. Predator Fall Gray jacket with Hardwood pants in the treestand. works very well.

I look and see too much of one design dominating the local Wal-marts (6 within an hr.) whether it be Mossy Oak which I like and Realtree. I am starting to see more of Treebark's Superflauge which I used during this past spring's turkey season. Very effective pattern in my opinion. Up close you miss its point. The other competition usually has to be ordered direct or by special order and that is really too bad.

It comes down to a fashion show. Like lures that attract fisherman rather than fish! It is what you like rather than what works!

I like something that has some green, grey, black and browns in it.I don't want nothing to bright and nothing to dark. I want something that looks good on me but also looks good in the woods.Something that's in style...LOL grin.gif

I would have to say HD Green and HD Hardwoods for me....

Re: Camo! what\'s your perfered choice?

I have several different brands of camo...I find myself wearing either Realtree HD green or HD hardwoods more than anything. They seem to blend better in my areas. HD green is my fav. though...seems to be a good all around camo...from spring gobbler to end of archery!

Re: Camo! what\'s your perfered choice?

I have several differant types of Camo that I use. I love Realtree Hardwoods, Mossy Oak Breakup, ASAT and Nat Gear. I use them all depending on when/where I hunt.

The ASAT pattern really is really interesting. It works wonders in all situations that I have used it in an for the life of me I can not figure out why! It does not look like anything I've seen in nature but the distinct contrast in colors seems to confuse game and make you invisble to them. It really works well when up in a tree that has no leaves in the fall.

Re: Camo! what\'s your perfered choice?

I think Realtree Hardwoods Green is the best all around pattern for around here. Pretty much all of my camo is some kind of realtree. The only mossy oak I ever liked and used was the old break up, but the new pattern takes a couple steps backwards I think. I also like to use the Advantage Timber once all the leaves are down in the fall.
