GWSmith
Well...Sort of... I went to hang a stand this afternoon in the PFFFFFFFFT Corn Field . The Wife went with me and she was no help at all...SHE LEFT ME HANGING She went Hunting When we rounded the point that sticks out into the field...bumped a Doe out of the northern corner I picked a tree for a Lock-on and the Wife was Gone I gave her a few hints just to keep her from getting lost...as she's walking away...and she disappeared on me! She went West towards the hill and turned North towards the North Staging Area. LOL...Shortly afterwards I saw 2 deer, with afterburners on full, cross the 2-track trail that enters the corn field from the North headed East. 10 Minutes later I'm 3-4 screw in steps up the tree...one comes from the North Staging Area headed South through the woods, 20 yds away, carrying the mail. I was looking for an arrow shaft with Blaze Orange Fletching or possibly Blood coming out of it's side but...Nope So shortly after I saw the 4th deer I see my Wife on the 2-track trail...hand motion to her the direction of travel on the 2 deer I saw cross where she was standing...She disappeared AGAIN!!! At this point you could not have got the smile off my face with a Wire Brush So I grabbed a few more steps and went back to hanging the stand. I saw my Wife come out into the field way over on the East side then walk the edge back over to where I was...almost. She got 30 yds away from me and asked me what I saw then... Yep..You Geussed It...She disappeared again headed after the deer that went to the South through the woods We met back up half way back to the truck...She was smiling and so was I... When we got back to the truck it was raining...I asked her if she wanted to go sit on the edge of the North field but she was already soaked to the bone. Shes at the store right now buying a Rainsuit!!! We had a great time and I've Created a Hunting Monster She Went Hunting...and left me Hanging Here's a few Pic's of where we were: My Wife Linda, with bow in hand, headed towards the "Point" From the West Edge of the Northern Field (standing cornstalk is just to the right of the 2-track trail that enters the field from the North) View from base of treestand tree to the NorthEast towards the creek

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Lost my Wife Once they get hooked Gary its all over. They will want all the gear you got and then try to invade your stand. My wife was a ground hunter before I took her up in my stand. She got up there and first thing she says was, "I like this, I want a treestand" You know how that goes and yes she has a treestand now, no more ground hunting for her! Guest luckyman4
Re: Lost my Wife LOL, all that worry about where to put a stand without them smelling you and it sounds like she covered the whole place in about 10 minutes. Best part about it is it sounds like you had more fun tonight than any other. Come Saturday, you can send her walking and lay the smackdown on those does if you can get them to stop for a good shot. . . GOOD LUCK!! wtnhunt
Re: Lost my Wife That is really cool Gary. Think I have done the same with my wife, she has not got a bow yet though, so I still get all the archery season for now.

[/ QUOTE ] Your right...and if it was a sacrifice in any way I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat We had hunted from a ground blind twice before this but this time She Hunted her way. I'm not quite sure what that way is yet...LOL...She had to figure that out as She went along. This was only her third time ever hunting and like alot of us before she learned what not to do It did not matter to her though and to be completely honest it was more of a gift for me to see her have so much fun! I heard..."Thank You" and "This was Fun"(about 9-10 times), "I Really felt like I was Hunting", and "At least I was pushing Deer...I could do a drive for You" She proves it's never too late to start Hunting...She's 57 yrs young! Did letting her go about things the way she wanted possibly cost me a nice deer...maybe..so what!!! I do know one thing for sure...I felt like I took home the biggest Trophy of my lifetime yesterday Seeing her finally get fired up about Hunting makes all those years of Brainwashing Her with Hunting videos worth every second...LOL
