Re: Using Areal Photos?

Yep, that's all I've been doing lately is pouring through topos and aerials. I've got some of James Collins, where us Okies are gonna have bow camp this year and I've got several from areas around here. I don't have any of my own land or my lease because I just about know every square inch.

I jsut printed out an aerial of a new piece of property I might hunt, but never had the chance to scout this summer. I have two spots picked out already.

Re: Using Areal Photos?

ThirdEye Map Company these guys are awesome. I just got a 30 x 30 laminated aerial photo of the ranch I hunt. Actually, the ranch is so big that it took many different photos to cover it, but the transitions are so seamless that you'll swear it's all one picture. The details are amazing and the photos are much more current than what I'm finding on the Internet services like Terraserver. I highly recommend them!

I use Topo USA (eastern region). You can download aerials USGS quads and aerial photos of any area you want. When you buy it, around $50, you get a $100 of free downloads. That is enough downloads to cover many miles of land. It also lets you see the lay of the land with a 3D effect, hills, ridges, valleys. Great stuff. http://www.delorme.com/
