Hoosierbuck
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? With you, Bro! I am actually a part-time prosecuting attorney. so I have been "off" two days per week since before our first (now 5 and in kindergarten) was born. I have had her and her 3 y.o. brother at least two days per week for all that time. We do the grocery shopping, run sissy to school, and all kinds of stuff. We also go scouting, shooting, hunting, fishing, and sometimes to dad's office when we need to put bad guys in jail. HB

NS whitetail
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? that's me When I am not out on the ocean working I am Mr. Mom here. Looking after my 2 year old boy and 10 year old girl , doing the laundry, dusting, vacuming, cooking, and everything else that goes along with being the housewife Thankfully, I am heading out to sea tommorow for 4 days --- I don't call going out longline fishing and working 20 hours a day work after being MR. Mom -- I call it a break
Swamphunter
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? 12 hr shifts for me also.... Took son wife went to work for 0730 Got kids breakfast, dressed and ready for school, dropped son off at school took daughter to the mall, bought her a pretzel, took her into arcade and left her play the "spider stomp game". Bought her a Polly Pocket because she has been so good, and brought her to Grandparents. Come home, eat lunch, watch Handy Manny, and now it is almost time to head to school to pick my son up and take him for his doctors appointment. Then come home and start dinner...also got a load of laundry done today.
Hoosierbuck
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? Lots of cops end up doing that duty due to shift work. You end up with good quality time with the kids, but you have to work hard to get the same thing with the spouse who works a different shift... HarvDog
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? My son is 21 so there's not alot of "looking after" him...well actually...nevermind. Anyway, I do alot around the house though cleaning our master bathroom each week, vacuuming, changing sheets, dusting, washing dishes, some cooking, etc. It's an equal partnership! hangunnr
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? I've been a single parent of 2 girls since 1990. My girls are 17 and 19 now so there isn't a whole lot of looking after these days. I've done and seen it all over the years..... You aint lived until you've sat in with all the other mommies at a sporting event.....LMAO hangunnr

MCH
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? Friday and Saturday nights are mine exclusively. With a 3 year old boy and a 17 month old little girl that's been walking since 9 months.......it can be a chore. Normally, I pick them up after work and try to spend as much time on the road as I can... Wife gets home around 9 at night and usually I've got them washed and ready for bed(if they aren't already) and have the house somewhat cleaned. Bowhntr
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? I work a 24 hour shift as a firefighter. The way my shift rotates I never work more than two days Monday through Friday and sometimes I only work one. I average 10 days a month. It works well I have my little girl on my days off and her Grandmas watch her the couple of days during the week that me and her Mom work. wtnhunt
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? Have been a mr mom on and off for a good while. Not always easy. Left my job back in March to stay home with the kids. Daycare costs for 3 were pretty ridiculous, and I really did not like the effect daycare was having on our kids. Our upcoming school situation for this year had us in a bit of a bind logistically, for me to keep working was going to make life at home a bit of a nightmare. The wife being an RN, had much better pay, so she stayed working, and for now I am taking care of the kids getting them to school, and picking them up. Hopefully will be able to go back to school myself and start working again when our baby starts school.
horst
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? Ive got the 3 kids about 4 days a week or more while the wifes at work 3 hours away. I get up about 5:30-6:00 and make my coffee, play on the computer awhile then at 7:00 I get the older 2 up, go through thier school bags, get them dressed, comb thier hair, and get em off to school by 8:00.Then I start getting the little one dressed, diaper bag packed, take him to daycare, and goto work.Pick em back up at the babysitters around 5:00, make sure homeworks done, cook em dinner, get them all baths, go over thier homework, make sure everythings packed back up for the next morning, and try to get em to bed before 9:00.Also I am the chauffer for after school activiies, soccer, girl scouts, football, baseball, etc... Its not easy being a single mother

I have my 5 yo until 11:30am and then I have off the rest of the day to hunt. They both get off the bus at the end of our driveway and My wife gets home from work about 15 minutes before that. Sweet. BowJoe
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? Ditto on most of ya'll's chores but I am a first time dad with a little 3 month old at home and I look at it as more of a "Hunter/Fisher In Training". She has to get her strength and agility up before we can start the physical part. LOL.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: How many Mr. MoM dads do we have here? I do a lot of the chores that some would think a typical mom would do, she cooks dinner and does grocery shoppin and in exchange I do the laundry, vacuum, dishes, and all the lawnwork. My wife works hard and I try to help ease the workload. In return I get to go hunting and she does not complain, very fair trade if you ask me.
