BEEF
Re: Acivity in IL? Im in central illinois i was out lastnight , seen two young bucks cruising toghether, and then about 6 o clock i seen a big shooter that i had not seen before checking the interance to a corn field from a trail im hunten on. He didnt come in but smelled all around it then walked off . So i think the bucks are starten to get that feeling but its early yet. I still believe in the second moon deal but i cant remember a fall this cool in a while so i guess were in for some good stand time before gun season hits. Good luck!! need2hunt
Re: Acivity in IL? In NW IL last week I saw 5 buck fights over a 45 minute span, there were 6 bucks (mostly 2.5 year olds) and they just kept milling around the area getting into fights. This is the first year that I found scrapes in September. Normally I don't find rubs and scrapes until around 10-15. Also hunted in Mcdonough county this weekend, lots of does around. Missed a shot on a 5.5 year old buck. They are hitting the scrapes pretty regularly and also decent movement in the late morning.
Stinger-Hunter
Re: Acivity in IL? I hunted Eastern Illinois on Sunday and didn't see a single deer. Morning was 50 yards from a an open field next to 3 good trails and a few rubs - nothing. Afternoon overlooked the field that had 3 or 4 excellent well-used trails leading right past the stand - nothing. Hopefully next weekend will be better. Sam16
Re: Acivity in IL? Shot a doe early on, oct 5th that weighed 160 pounds field dressed. Then Saturday the 14th i shot a 10 pt (mainframe 8 w/ 2 irregular browtines), which will be posted with pics soon. He decided to come out of his corn field about 45 minutes too early and i was there to meet him. Grunted him in from about 50 yds to 16... Cant wait for november though

KirkV
Re: Acivity in IL? I saw 3 bucks together just before dark here in central Ill. 2 were shooters and the 3rd was a basket 6. The one larger one made a scrape while the other 2 just browsed. Give it 2 more weeks then hold on, vacation time will be taken!
Bowtech_archer07
Re: Acivity in IL? I'm in central IL, and I shot a doe sun. night that had an 8 pt. in front of her. He was about a 125 class deer. I have also seen 3 deer that would have gone well over 140 one of which was easily a booner and I saw him on opening night and missed him. (( I have seen deer every time but 2 i've been in the timber.
