kooter
There are some pics of the new Hoyts on Archerytalk.com. I don't know how to put a link in, but if you go there it is under the manufacturer announcements. They look pretty awesome. Can't wait until they come into the shops to look at
Turkeygirl
Re: new hoyts!!! There are some nice bows there! Of course I still like my new Rintec XL from Hoyt:-) Now if a deer would come close enough.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: new hoyts!!! Kooter, to copy a link all you would do is in your address box on your computer, copy that line from that web site, copy the entire line. Then paste it when you log on here after you type what you have to say in your post. Do a print preview and the link should be there and underlined in a light gray tint I'll have to venture over to AT and check them out!! Chrud
Re: new hoyts!!! http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=382560&page=3 I'm not impressed at all. The Vectrix is new for 2007? The shorter model is identical in specs to the 2005 Switchback and they both match up pretty much identically to the 2006 Trykon. The Vulcan is a Trykon with a shorter BH and faster. I'm really shocked that Hoyt didn't come out with anything "new".
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: new hoyts!!! I give them a lot of credit Chrud, at least they are getting information out now and coming out with some new designs. Got to remember its Hoyt and not Mathews so who cares if the specs match the 05 Switchback, Hoyt made it to meet their specs which happens to meet Mathews. Maybe it was done on purpose to sway Mathews shooters to Hoyt. The bow business is competitive. Problem is bows are not like cars, you don't need a new model every year or every other year. They need to try and change things to see what will work and what will sell. I would say if you have a new Switchback XT you'd be set for life but as you know bows change and people will want the latest and greatest! Bottom line will be price and quality, you make a great bow at a great price and it will be a hit! In today's economy guys and gals don't have tons of cash to throw around for gear. May the best values for 2007 win!
Chrud
Re: new hoyts!!! Hoyt does make very nice bows. I'm getting in a little kidding with the specs, but I'm not surprised they made one to those specs. I'm just really surprised they didn't come out with something completely different. Ohiobucks
Re: new hoyts!!! [ QUOTE ] I'm just really surprised they didn't come out with something completely different. [/ QUOTE ] You mean Hoyt should have used like a 33.25" ATA and a 7.125" BH? These are just dimensions, the materials used, engineering to develop what works best, and cam setups are different from brand to brand. How many bows out there are 33" ATA and 7" BH? Countless, and not just from Mathews or Hoyt. I think the new Hoyts look pretty sharp, but I am a Hoyt fan. Will I go out and buy one? No, I just got my Trykon this past summer and plan on spending a few years with it.
