jbeck
To all of you that said the boy that tresspassed wouldn't learn his lesson. You were right, I just talked to the game warden this afternoon. He just arrested the boy for shooting deer last friday night with a 22. I have expalined what happened at our property, and he is going to try to seize the head. I will say in my defense that the warden was going to take it easy on him, because he seemed like a nice young man. After talking to me and sharing my experience with him, he thinks he might try to punish the kid straight instead of scare him straight. I won't let this stop me from being a forgiving person, but I am helping to build a case against this young man. I'm hoping loss of license and maybe even his truck will teach him what my talk with him didn't. I will get ready for the I told you so's, and I desirve them. But I thought for everyone that chimed in on the post last time, you should know what happened. Good luck and God Bless.
GWSmith
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY You already know that... The act of trying to be a Blessing to people is it's own reward...it's not dependant on the results it brings
missouri hunter
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY Don't be sorry, you did what you thought was right and you tried to help that young man out and show him the meaning of true grace. While he may not have learned from you right away, I am sure at some point in his life God can use that to work wonders. If you start getting blasted on here again then I would say people should show a little more class and respect towards you and your decision on your land. [/ QUOTE ] For what ?? trying to be a forgiving and understanding person.... I think that's a quality that most of us could use more of... You tried,,, but the young man in question didn't want to listen and learn. So that's on him NOT you.... You have nothing to hear but,,,, "You tried".... Bownarow
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY You were definitaly more understanding than I would have been. Sounds like your compassion didn't get through to him. I bet Mr. Warden teaches him a leason though. Hopefully you can get that head back. It was afterall taken off your property. If nothing else you can hang it up and it will always be a reminder of a story you can tell to others.

Hillbilly
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY Sorry if my message was hurtful in anyway. I sure did feel bad after a couple days after posting it. Sorry about calling you out when it came to the respect of the animal and hunting you do. That was totally uncalled for and I do apologize. Your a better man than me when it comes to forgivness. At least the boy now knows now he can sit around and think about all the wrong he has done.

Turkeygirl
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY As my mom will tell me when our neighbors are up to no good - God will deal with him. Stinger-Hunter
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY I don't think you have to apologize. If he had listened to you, then you did the right thing. The mistake was his - twice. Glad to see that your DNR officer is working the poachers. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times for people to learn. Tom2008
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY Yep like others have said no reason to feel bad. You did what you thought was right. That kid screwed up again and he is going to get punished this time. If he was smart he would have listened.
Leo
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY You weren't wrong. The kid was. Sadly, you are probably not the first to let this kid slide. It happens often enough sometimes these kids believe they are special and deserve the second chance... multiple times. When they finally have to face real consequences they can't believe it and make it out to be everyones fault but their own. Forgiveness frees people from their debt to you, not from the consequences of their actions.
Rhino
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY You did what you felt was right to try to talk sense into the boy. Unfortunately it sounds like it went in one ear and out the other. Not your fault for giving him a 2nd chance. He just blew it. Hopefully he'll learn his lesson this time the hard way. As for your forgiving nature, keep beeing yourself. This shouldn't change anything.
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY No one has a crystal ball. You had given him a break and one that could have changed his life. Now he must deal with the punishment that the court gives to him. Now I hope they hammer him. Maybe the court could read our responses to this post, to him
