Jeramie
Im thinking of picking up an airgun to hunt small game. Ive been reading through different catalogs and im seeing all sorts of speeds. Most of the guns im really likeing are 1000-1200fps. Im sure that is plenty to kill squirrel and rabbit. What ranges are they effective (at those speeds, .177cal)? And how effective are they? I grew up hunting squirrel with shotguns and .22lr's. I think this would add an exciting and quiet twist. I could use some opinions and stats. Ive only had a few bb guns and they were pretty much along the lines of red rider. Im currently looking between the $100-$200 range which doesnt seem to be a problem. Some im considering: Gamo Brand ----> Game Shadow Game Nitro Hunter Sport Combo Beeman------> SH1000H Winchester----> 1000X Remington----> Summit Crossman------> Phantom
longhorn57
Re: Air Gun? I have shot a couple of the high power ones from gamo and remington. They were both good guns and the one thing I did notice is they were a lot louder than I expected. My guess of effecitve range with head shots would be max of 50 to 60 yards. They are a ton of fun to shoot around with!
