hangunnr
Picked up a new Boyds laminated thumbhole stock off another forum for cheap and installed my Rem 45cal into it. Had to open the barrel channel up and cut a channel for the ram rod. I added a second ram rod guide at the front of the stock to protect the wood while reinserting the rod. I think it turned out pretty nice. This gun was a good shooter with the tupperware factory stock. I hope it gets even better with this stock. hangunnr
AJ
Re: New wood for the Remmy... Looks good Man! Way to go! It will also cut a bit of recoil. What did you use to cut the rod groove?

[/ QUOTE ] I set a router bit up in the drill press. Made a crude jig to guide the forearm and went to cutting. I opened up the front end with a rat tail file. I'm going to shoot it as is now then after deer season do a pillar and glass bed job on the action. I would also like to inlet the second rod guide a little deeper. hangunnr
