Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: ez-hangers I only use mine in trees that have a softer sapwood. I wouldn't dare try to screw it in an oak or a sugar maple. Well, I have in the past and I think I worked up more of a sweat doing that than hiking 2 miles with my treestand on my back. It will also help you if you work at the level of the screw on the hanger than trying to screw it in the tree above your head(You just can't get the leverage you need). Once ypou get it screwed in move your stand down to the desired location. For me that is only about a foot. Hope this helps and Good luck
Mirage
Re: ez-hangers i am not sure what kind of tree you are tring to get it into but mine goes in real easy
hoosierhunter
Re: ez-hangers depends on the time of the year too...Now it shouldn't be that tough...
Guest Leadbuck
Re: ez-hangers I have not had to much trouble screwing in my ezhanger. Last weekend I was sitting in a white oak tree and I inserted the hanger as high as I can reach.

GWSmith
Re: ez-hangers What I've had to do with mine to make it alot easier to drive into any tree is remove 2 small gear hooks. Those are the 2(out of 3 total) that are farthest away from the screw. This allows me to hold onto it tightly when I stick it into the tree the first time. It also allows me to continue to exert pressure against the tree while holding in that spot I have my hanger folded at a 90degree angle as well when sticking it to the tree and while turning it in deeper. Another thing I've done is fabricate a bracket that is placed at the swivel joint in my hanger. This bracket was made so it can recieve the Buck Wing Porta-Roof umbrella shaft. I would not have had to come up with this idea...If I had remembered to take the original screw-in mount, that came with the umbrella, out of a tree last year. It's still there....In West Virginia I actually like this setup better because when using the Porta-Roof with the EZ-Hanger the muzzle of my rifle will be under the roof
wtnhunt
Re: ez-hangers Have used mine in maples, oaks and hickories. Never had a problem getting it started. Just kind of push hard to get it started at first. Once it catches it is no problem to turn.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: ez-hangers Not an issue here either, I have used the EZ hanger and the Gorilla hanger, great results with both. Some stands I will use an Ameristep screw in foot step, those work great too and at the end of the year most places clearance them out for under $2.00. Can't beat that, all you do is take a rubber hose and put over it to quiet it down when your bow touches it.
Ravin R10 man
Re: ez-hangers Im trying to put one in every stand site, that way it's always there...handy things to have..I got a lot of stuff to hang.
vagobbln
Re: ez-hangers I usually don't have a problem getting the EZ Hanger to bite, but sometimes it's helpful to take an extra screw in step and drill a pilot hole. Once you have this done it should go right on in.
Guest lostiniowa
Re: ez-hangers i use them everywhere. turn the arm so its L shaped.. then just push in as you turn.. once you get it started, like 1/2 turn, it will go easy... LifeNRA
Re: ez-hangers I never had any problems getting them started either. But I also use two step screws to hang my fanny pack on one, and my quvier and jacket on the other.
NY_Bowhunter14
Re: ez-hangers if i know ill be sitting in the same stand more than once, then ill just ut the easy hanger in the same hole each time, it makes it real easy... Rhino
Re: ez-hangers Mine seems like it jumps into any tree I'm in. Never had a problem. A friend of mine has some trouble with his too. He has to pound on it a couple of times to get his started. I guess some have sharper points than others.
BAMABUCKS
Re: ez-hangers I've never had any problems getting it into any type tree. However, had a buddy that bought one that would not even screw into a pine tree. The point wasn't right on it. He took it back & swapped it for another one and it works fine. You may want to do the same.

Tominator
Re: ez-hangers Stab it into the tree hard, wear a glove, it helps, then push with one hand, as you spin with the other. Mine always goes in pretty easy.
wtnhunt
Re: ez-hangers Only problem I have with ez hangers or the gorilla bowhangers is not having one for every stand I hunt from, I only have two now one of each. Going to probably buy two more of them soon.
NEIOWAARCHER
Re: ez-hangers Mine works OK, I have had trouble in some trees though. I have some small single hooks that I carry in my pocket. If I can't get the Ez hanger to start I use one of those to make a small hole then I start the Ez in. Seems to work OK.
