Guest wasp
Re: Low or medium mounts probably a 2x7 x32 was thinking on a 3x9 x40 but dont think i need that much power for a slug gun.. Thanks wasp
wtnhunt
Re: Low or medium mounts Might get away with low rings with the 32mm. I may be wrong, but for the 40mm objective will likely have to have mediums.
Jeramie
Re: Low or medium mounts Personally if the price is the same or close id step up to the bigger scope. You never know when you'll move it to another gun or something. Also, collecting more light is a good thing. Regardless, you may be able to get away with the low rings but the medium rings wont break your neck. If it were me id stick to the mediums and get the bigger scope. Ive never heard anyone say, "My scope is just way to much...."
johnf
Re: Low or medium mounts I like the medium rings on my H&R guns. I don't much care for using the hammer spur extention (it has come loose on me a few times and scratched my scope) With the medium rings you have enough clearance to get your thumb under there to pull the hammer back and the scope is not uncomfortably high.
