superguide Posted October 19, 2006 Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 Ty and I went out this A'M -we've been hunting a big 7x7 pretty hard and had our game plan set. I still hunted in about a 3/4 mile circle to cut him off and Ty worked crosswind to him. I got pinned down sneaking through about 20 does and fawns and Ty had about a 160 in front of him. While we worked through this a guy snuck down the property line and shot him in between us. I confronted him and he said he had permission. I helped him load the deer but told Ty he's lying through his teeth-turns out I was right the landowner hadn't even talked to him. I think he'll be reghretting things when my buddy catches up to him. Sounds like it might have been a dangerous situation with him sneaking in between you and Ty. I sure wish you could have called your buddy from a cell phone before you loaded up the deer. Poaching on private property AND killing a deer is not looked upon lightly in most game wardens eyes. It sucks you guys were not able to close out the deal.
