nhbowhunter
Re: the can I am not sure if the pictures are still here or not but 2 of the bucks I shot in the last 4 seasons are 100% the result of The Can. 2002: The 8pt came in on a string along with a 6pt. The 6pt was right under my stand the 8pt came to 7yds and was dropped with a bow. 2003: The 10pt moved through the brush so quickly I did not know if it was a buck or a doe. I used The Can and the deer turned and came into full view at 40yds. I dropped him with a .30-06 I have yet to get the same result from a buck using a grunt tube but I still bring one of those with me on ever hunt as well. GWSmith
Re: the can [ QUOTE ] have u guys had sucess while using the can? got any good stories? [/ QUOTE ] ROTFLMBO...Actually my first deer @ 13 years old came while I was using the can 32 years ago The gun was leaning up against a tree just out of reach...looked up from taking care of business(it was a stadup routine) and 3 deer went by me 20 ft away. We put a drive on through that section of woods and luckily I picked the game trail a small spike decided to use...3 shots later i had killed my first deer ...but still Since I've covered the story and the question in one fell swoop...I'll go a step further I've had some luck using the "Great Big Can" but mainly it simply gets deer to stop that I've already seen. I had better luck with the "Original Can" after having left it on the dashboard of my truck in the Florida sun. It acquired a different sound than it was designed for but it then worked bringing in Does. It sounded alot more like a Fawn Bleat then
Guest kybuster
Re: the can hadent had any luck with it this year, actually had 3 does run off after they heard it,not much luck in the past years neither
Dogg6
Re: the can The can worked for me. Called in my biggest buck yet with it a couple weeks ago. I have the middle sized can and he heard it out to 200 yards, but I did have the help of 20 mph winds to help carry the sound. But he heard it and came in on a rail. Guest j_beste
Re: the can ive had it bring deer in and also had it spook them. ive brought in only small bucks with it. One time I used it and the woods erupted with blows-these deer were upwind of me. I think its success is situational.
Guest archer8030
Re: the can Killed a decent public land 8 point here in SC two weeks ago. I tipped the can at 0715 and at 0724 this buck come walking in from a nearby thicket with his head on a swivel. He was definitely looking for the "doe" that he heard, but all he found was the 110 gr. Accubond bullet that raced out of the barrel of my 25 WSSM and crashed into his neck.
Guest TIGER81
Re: the can I HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESSS WITH THE CAN! Guest archer8030
Re: the can One thing I've found as a bow hunter, if you're not failing, you're not trying hard enough. Take advantage of every trick or tool on the market. Some will work and some won't but you'll never have success with'em if you don't at least try. Stinger-Hunter
Re: the can It has worked wonders for me and failed miserable also. I had 3 deer come straight to me, then took off running. I hit the can 2 times and they all came back in. I shot one, turned out to be a button buck. 15 yard shot. I was on the ground. I spooked 5 or 6 does, hit the can and they all came back. i shot one, but I never found her 5 hours of searching. I think she recovered. I was on the ground also. I've also used the can while in my car driving down the road, stopped 50 yards from deer browsing on some grass. Hit the CAN to see what they would do. Didn't spook them at all. I've also used it on bucks with no luck at all. They ignore it, in my experience.
tallone
Re: the can I've had luck with them and when they do stop working you can blow thru the bottom and they will usually work that way. I've done it just to change up my calling before too.
