drkillemquick
Re: Tinks 69 For the cost of a bottle. If It was old and I questioned the odour. I would replace it. I put too much time and money into hunting just to scare a deer away with scent that had gone bad.

johnf
Re: Tinks 69 [ QUOTE ] anyone get results with tinks 69? [/ QUOTE ] This guy made a bee line straight to me with 3 year old tinks. [image][/image]
Bownarow
Re: Tinks 69 There are always exceptions to the rules, just like that guy who smokes and pees out of his stand that kills a big buck. However, deer scent will definately go stale after a while. I just threw some left over scent I had from last year out. IMO, It makes a difference and you need to use fresh scent. To me, the opportunity at a giant buck is definatly worth the 6 or 7 bucks for a new bottle of scent.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Tinks 69 Just depends on the circumstances, I have a buddy who does not scout, does not practice with his bow, does not take hunting serously at all and I heard he just got a 12 pointer with a 17" spread. Sometimes its just pure luck, right spot, right time! I say if you keep in cool and in a dark area, and it smells like pee, use it. I have made mock scrapes and pee'd in them myself, have had mature does investigate it and sniff the ground, if any old weary doe does not get scared off from my pee, I think your safe with old deer pee. Good luck!!
MUDRUNNER
Re: Tinks 69 I have some success with it.It's one of those things that works good sometimes, sometimes it doesn't.I usually buy fresh every year.A buddy told me to keep it in the fridge and it will stay good, but the wife would have a fit if she found that in there. Guest pdaddy
Re: Tinks 69 I got inconsistent results using Tink/s sometimes it would booger the deer. I did a little research and found out the some stores buy a deal (144 bottles ) and what they don't sell the first year they store in a storeroom and display for sale the next year. That would make some of the Scents as least three years old. I decided to try freshly collected deer urine from a deer farm and I have seen a huge difference in positive deer reactions since switching to freshly collected deer urine, we have taken some really good bucks in the last two years ( including 182" monster) using the products from Southern Whitetail Scents. It's all fresh with no preservatives added. www.southernwhitetailscents.com
3whunt
Re: Tinks 69 I have had mixed results as well. i have never had a big buck come into Tinks. I have had a lot of yearling bucks check it out though. This year I bought a 32 ounce bottle of doe estrus from northeast dear scents (ebay). seems to smell a lot like tinks. i'd use what you have. wtnhunt
Re: Tinks 69 Have used old scents and had them work just as well as fresh stuff. I keep the opened scents in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator door.

I don't know of any whitetail species that comes into estrous before Oct 15th. I would be very skeptical of any doe estrous promoted for sale ( advertised as fresh) that can be purchased prior to Oct 15th. Sounds like last year's left-overs to me! 3whunt
Re: Tinks 69 don't care what species if it works...probably is last years left overs..... but that is true for all doe urine purchased before the rut.... I know some is fresher than others.... i bought it because it was like $25 for 32 ounces....figured I give some to everybody and see if it works.... if it doesn't...oh well...less than $1 an ounce... and it really does smell like tinks... so I am thinking it will.... like I said, i have never had a big one come into any doe urine.... could resist at the price. HitRmisS
Re: Tinks 69 I used some tinks gel yesterday afternoon and had deer all around me, one of the does even stuck her head right up in the bush i put it on, none of them spooked. So it may not work as well but i don't think it hurts anything either

There is no way, unless they are getting urine in Alaska and shipped the same day, can they get estrous urine before mid October/Beginning of Nov
