well its finally here we have our first opener in illinois, the northern zone, man am i excited, me and a buddy are heading out early tomorrow morning, bout 2.5 hours up to the mighty mississippi, getting up there and doing some scouting and then finish up brushing the boat blind, then saturday morning its killing time, gotta love it sleeping at the campground 30 degrees at night sleeping in the tent, no water, no electricity, just toilet, completely ruffing it, do it every year and love every minute of it, secluded from everything except fellow duck hunters at the boat landing in the morning, and next week is the central opener so, ill be hunting that, supposedly buddy is taking his digital camera so maybe well get some pics, i dont trust myself to take mine, ill see ya boys when i get back

Re: Saturday Opener

well back from the opener weekend, saturday we shot our limit, between 2 of us, 4 woodies, 6 teal,(all greenwings) and 2 mallards, and 1 goose, it was a single passing along low enough, we couldnt get geese to work they had there minds set on where they were going, in the big lake next to us, sunday was a lot different, sat night had a big storm with strong North wind, with rain, and snow, storm pushed the birds out, brought us a bunch of new geese, but not many ducks, sunday we ended up killing 2 greenwing teal, 2 bluewing teal, and 2 gadwall, we didnt see much for birds sunday besided the geese, but still a great weekend
