Shaun_300
hey has anyone fished Algonquin Park? Anytime of the year? I go every spring, mothers day weekend to Mattawa, ON and we go into Kiosk Lake. For the past few years we have just taken boats and motors on Kiosk Lake and fished only that lake for the Lake Trout. But other years we would take the canoes and portage into different lakes such as: Lauder Lake, Mink Lake and White Birch Lake to fish for the specles. what a beautiful area! Other areas in the park that i have been to is Ryan Lake. You go into the park near Barry's Bay/Madawaska ON area. in that lake there are speclked trout and splake. Another nice place to go. I have also been to White Partridge Lake. You enter the park at Achray, near Petawawa, ON. On this trip, you either have to walk the 13mi in there or take a team of horses. No motorized vehicles are allowed in most parts of the park. In White Partridge, there are Lakers and Specs. what a fun weekend camping trip! the last place in the park, that i have went fishing is Lake Travers. You also go in by the Achray access point. WHAT A FUN SPOT LOL., in Lake Travers, there is Musky. Dad and i went in there one time and man did we have a blast. Eventhough we didnt catch any Muskies, they followed our Jitterbugs right up to the boat. What a rush that is to see the V break the top of the water. i am guessing the ones that followed the baits up to the boat were around 20lbs. we are probably going to go back there this summer and see if we can get one of those monsters LOL. Algonquin Park is definetly the place to go for a weekend/week away with the lads or with your family... guaranteed fun!!
need2hunt
Re: Algonquin Park Fishing (Ontario) Never fished there but been through there several times, my inlaws have a cottage on round lake which is just south east of the park. It's like a 17 hour trip from here.
