Guest samueljm
I just was thinking the other day what it would be like to be able to hunt whitetails anywhere you wanted so i made up this situation. You have just entered and won a whitetail hunt of a lifetime. Its an all expenses paid hunt to pursue whitetails anywhere in North America or Canada for a week and a half. So where would you hunt, when would you hunt, and what weapon are you using, and a reason for your choice. I would probably hunt in canada, either Saskatchewan or Alberta. Id be hunting with my bow and during the rut as well. O yea Id also be holding out for the world record typical buck as welll..move over Hanson buck...haha we can dream cant we? So how about it, what would you guys do? P.S. Sorry if this is posted twice. I cant see me post on here for RT forums so I just made another one. -John

Leo
Re: For all us Dreamers (hypothetical) Quit dreaming and go to Saskatchewan! Trust me on this, go to Saskatchewan. Be prepared to be cold. But if you're a determined whitetail hunter. It's worth it. I'm not kidding. If it is your dream, DO IT! This "if I won the lottery" mentality gets you no where. If you would only go if you got extra free cash, you're gonna be waiting a long time. If you really want to do it. Then do it. Quit dreaming. Make it a priority like a house, a car or even a boat. The world is absolutely full of "if only" people. Break out of that mode and suddenly the world is a better place
Shaun_300
Re: For all us Dreamers (hypothetical) I've always wanted to hunt in Saskatchewan. Montana, Wyoming, Kansas or Texas would be my choices for the states.

HitRmisS
Re: For all us Dreamers (hypothetical) My number one choice would be an early season bow hunt on the Milk river in Montana. I would pick this with hopes of getting a giant buck still in full velvet.

Hoosierbuck
Re: For all us Dreamers (hypothetical) I totally disagree, New...she's way too pretty to have around when I am trying to hunt. I don't know how Lee does it. I have this dream of a wilderness elk and muley hunt, but like the man said I better quit dreaming and get the rest of my gear packed since I leave for Montana in two weeks! I agree-don't just dream, make plans, and get to living life! HB

I came to that same conclusion about 15 years ago and that's when I started going on out of state deer hunting trips every fall. I usually make a road trip to spring turkey hunt too. You can't put a price on that kind of memory. It sticks with you for life so make plans and budget your $ to make your dream hunt. Take the plunge and make your dream hunt a reality. Gotta get back to re-organizing gear and packing for my Illinois and Kansas bowhunting trips.

But I refuse to register my gun with a foreign govt. So, I'd pick either Kansas or Iowa. Probably Kansas so I can use a rifle.
