SuperMn106
Is there any guitar players in here? I am wanting to learn to play one. I just want to be able to learn the basics like the chords and stuff so that way when i look at a sheet of music i can teach myself how to play the song. i do not know much about the chords and other stuff. What is a good but inexpensive guitar to buy? I was looking at epiphones only because i heard Eric Church sing about it in one of his songs lol any help would be appreciated Mike
M00N
Re: Any Guitar players in here? I always liked the Epiphones quality and sound myself. I got a camo electric guitar from Epiphone (Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom Camo). But, it wasn't cheap to get when you add the amp and all the other accessories in. What type of guitar are you looking at learning? Electric, acousitic, or bass?

M00N
Re: Any Guitar players in here? Epiphone, Dean, or Ibanez would be some good ones to look at. I know the Ibanez Acoustics were real nice sounding and feeling that I saw in the store and were under $200.00.

bfletch7441
Re: Any Guitar players in here? I have a Washburn D10 I bought for around $300, and it's been a great guitar for the money. For your own sake though, go to a guitar shop and talk to the guy's working there. They'll point you in the right direction and get you a quality guitar inexpensively instead of a cheap guitar that would be better used for firewood. You may end up spending a little more, but it will be worth it. My $.02. Ben
Airman312
Re: Any Guitar players in here? I've been playing for about 25 years now. I have an Aspen guitar that my father gave me when I went away to school. It has a very good sound to it.My father bought an ovation which has a good sound to it also. Just remember, even though your just learning, if you buy cheap...that's how it will sound. You get what you pay for in life.

The first thing you need to do is pick up a book on Chord Theory. If you start out by learning the Major chords (G, C, D, E, A, etc.) youll never learn the theory and learn to read music. Or at least most people dont. As far as guitars Ibanez makes a cheap acoustic. They dont sound the best in the world (unless you get into the jumbo body). Gibson, Honor, Takamini, Ovation.... the list could go on and on. At this point it wont really matter. Just pick up a decent guitar with a cut away and start practicing. I would suggest getting a thin body guitar (acoustic/ electric). They tend to have better action then a regular acoustic. They will play more like an electric and will be easier to fret. Leo
Re: Any Guitar players in here? For acoustics I like Alvarez, Ovation, Takemine, Martin and Seagull. Go to the local music store and find a good used guitar This will save you big $$$
