VTbowman
Sat in my ground blind Sat evening cause I just could not take the wind any longer. Not dressed for it apparently. At 5 minute after sun set I see a big doe walking ebhind a small point of trees and scrub that juts out into my small food plot. I get ready. 5 minute till the end of legal light she starts working out into the open but man it was pretty dim already. I turn my light on and draw back. All I could see was pins! I let down and turn the light off, draw back and I could see her and the outline of my pins but no fiber optics. I decide to just not shoot. Then.. BUNK! I hit the trigger by accident. The deer bolts and I sit to listen for her. I get out and find nothing. No blood and no arrow. I slept uneasy that night. the next morning Bob and myself go look and fins the arrow with no blood on it. PHEW!

Rhino
Re: Clean Miss-Thankfully! Not the kind of sleepless night you want to go through Shawn. I hate it when that happens. Glad it worked out for the best. Sleep well tonight.

Stinger-Hunter
Re: Clean Miss-Thankfully! I missed one too. Wind carried it about 18 inches to the left. 45 yard shot, dead on height-wise. If I put it on her belly it would have been a heart shot. Oh well. We'll get them. Guest Bob_D
Re: Clean Miss-Thankfully! That was the best looking clean arrow I have ever found. It would have been a LOOOOOOONNG day if it was not clean.

Tony
Re: Clean Miss-Thankfully! Ahhhh.. get that finger away from the trigger if you dont want to shoot. you be very lucky.. or unlucky i guess. i dont know if this can be done with your sight , but can you extend the pins so that you dont have to use a light in low light shooting? my Spot Hogg sight is very bright all the way until legal shooting light is over and i dont need a light at all. you can buy after market fiber optics and add them to your sight and just leave them a inch or 2 longer. this allows them to gather more light so you dont need to use a light for them. just an idea. VTbowman
Re: Clean Miss-Thankfully! What I did is to dim the LED down a bit and have it so you can barely see the pins in pitch black. I have no problen with the sight out in the open, having sight pins visable well past legal. It was just inside that black interior blind with only a couple windows open. As for the finger on the trigger. I normally do not wear gloves on my release hand but did for ground level hunting. I did not feel the trigger. LOL I guess I had it set to light for use with gloves... Took care of that too.
