NiteRunner
I got the New Issue of Field and Stream and they had a Tip in there for shooting replacement blade Broadheads. It said take the blades out and shoot with just the head to practice with. This true? I thought the blades would play a part in the flight pattern, what do you think? LifeNRA
Re: F&S BroadHead Tip I would practice with the blades in. Besides, if I did this with my Muzzy's, I think it would damage the part the tip threads on to. Causing the sides to cave in.
OUTSIDER
Re: F&S BroadHead Tip i used to do that with NAP thunderheads, seemed to work pretty well, i think something about the longer profile of the head and the balance of the arrow, they did seem to fly about the same, blade on blade off, but with the new mathews and my montecs they fly straight and true
GWSmith
Re: F&S BroadHead Tip I just take a couple of the regular BH's and shoot those with the blades in for practice. Always shot into a BH Target so they have not shown any wear at all. I have my "Reserve" broadheads on my hunting arrows...but they have all been shot a couple times to check them for proper flight...but still only into a Black Hole target. wtnhunt
Re: F&S BroadHead Tip I use muzzy's. I shoot the practice blades for practice. They hit exactly the same as the razor sharp hunting blades, so this is not an issue for me. Would think shooting without the blades the heads might not hit exactly the same as with the blades. Not sure.
