Airman312
I have a couple of boxes of really nice brand new wooden arrows that my father in law gave me when I started hunting. He used them when he was hunting many years ago with the recurves. I have been wondering if they will handle the stress from the compound bows we use today. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks. SpcNape
Re: Wooden Arrows??????????? I don't know if they would be a good choice. They aren't made for the speeds of a compound, and I am sure you wouldn't get good flight from them. They're great for a long bow or recurve though. vagobbln
Re: Wooden Arrows??????????? Personally, I wouldn't dare try it. Unless you just want to have a footlong piece of cedar protruding from your forearm! I don't think any wooden arrow would have the spine to withstand being shot from today's compounds. Get the old recurve or long bow out if you've got the itch to shoot them that bad.

Tony
Re: Wooden Arrows??????????? as many here have said, never use wooden arrows in a compound. if you need to get rid of the wooden arrows, put them up for sale in the classifieds. there are a few of us recurvers here that might be interested in them. 98chevy
Re: Wooden Arrows??????????? Ive stuck my self in the eye with a broken arrow and to say the least i never want to be stuck again. I had sevon hours of recontsrctuon surgery on my face. they saived my eye because it went less the quarter of inch above my eye. I was shooting carbon arrows and all we can figure is it was cracked and i didnt notice. Now a check before every shot.
IowaDeerHunter
Re: Wooden Arrows??????????? i do not think that is such a good idea like the others have stated. Gonna hurt to pull that BIG splinter out of your arm.
