tclubbs2
I have about 100 or so acres that I bowhunt with a buddy. My dad does not bowhunt and just started gunhunting with me a few seasons ago. We lost the land we gun hunted on the last few seasons due to a divorce of another friend. My questions is would it be ok to gun hunt the same land I bowhunt on? I do not want to gunshy the deer so they do not come back for late season bowhunting. missouri hunter
Re: Bowhunting Advice that is a tough call. we gun hunt the same land that we bow hunt, but it is 700 acres so there are more deer, ground etc. and we still do good late season. You have to think that the people around you will be gun hunting so the deer on you 100 acres will be shot at, so I say go for it. Why let someone else take the big boy on the adjoining farm????? Straight Shooter
Re: Bowhunting Advice As long as your not shootin at everything coming and going, it will not even bother the deer. Over hunting and to much scent in the area will decrease your deer sightings. They usually turn nocturnal when the hunting pressure is on. So, just watch the amount you hunt one area and don't go out with guns a blazing! LOL Good luck to you and your father.

I bow and gun hunt our small farm. The wife and my oldest daughter only gun hunt. Pressure put on the deer behind us usually has most of them nocturnal by the first few weeks of the gun season, but sometimes they still slip up. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Bowhunting Advice I do both on the land I hunt on, does not usually mess up late season. One thing I see is less hunters after gun season as most will not sit out in the cold. Sometimes its the best time, some of the younger does go into estrous and the bucks that outsmarted the hunters during gun season may give you a shot! I say you will be alright!
