Re: 3

I don't think it's in the movie, but I remember several years ago when Dale jumped out of the #3 at Atlanta at the last race of the year. I think he won it (pretty good odds, huh?). Commentator asked what he was going to do on the off season and Dale's first words were: "going deer hunting". The new generation plays video games while the older goes hunting, can grab a welder and fix his car, run a backhoe, etc, etc. confused.gif Times are changing.............

Re: 3

That's one thing Dale was and that was a hunter. He'd go with Terry Labonte on occasion, not sure how much after he "rattled Terry's cage" at Bristol. Hunting, clearing land, playing with his horses, he was an all around guy.

There was some old guys near his place and he seen there garage lights on one night while going home. Dale stopped by to shoot the bull with them. They were working on a classic 57 Chevy. To have Dale just stop by and have a beer and BS with them just shows how down to earth he really was.

I did see Bill and Tyler Jordan hunting turkeys on one show and Tyler had on a camo #3 hat. Then they mentioned that Dale was suppose to join them on that hunt but it never happened as we all know what happened to prevent that. That was a touching moment and for Bill to air that was a great tribute to a great man.

Re: 3

Ryan,

Dale did so many great things that its hard to get all of it into a 90 minute movie. As with any story things get left out. They did a good job doing it and details got left out but as we all know of this board the movie could go on for hours and hours and hours, maybe even days.

He was an awesome man, tough as nails on the track, and as soft as a teddy bear outside of it. He had a good heart thats for sure!

took this from NASCAR.com, in reference to your question Chris about Ralph Earnhardt:

"He died suddenly on Sept. 26, 1973 while working on a race car in his shop."
