Wopsononock, PA... Mountain Lion!

This is a ligitimate scanned 35mm trail camera photo of a mountain lion, taken on Wopsononock Mountian, about 10 miles from my apartment in Gallitzin. The elevation on this mountain is 2600ft, which is one of the highest points around the area. Keep in mind the highest spot in PA is Mt. Davis, at just over 3,000ft. Point is its a very secluded place for one to live, and although I've heard of people seeing them before, I needed proof. This is the first pic I believe is legit... A coworker of mine personally knows the hunter who owns the trailcam, who scanned this photo this past weekend.

Finally!! Someone found it! Thanks shockwave! Yes my leg was pulled for a bit, but then they let go of it thanks to you guys! I was just a little excited at first! Wouldn't you be if an animal not formally acknowledged to exist in your state in 30 years was "just photographed" LOL grin.gif

Thanks again!

I live in Fayette county, i`ve been hearing rumors about a mountain lion in and around gamelands 51,

my boss claims to have seen one while riding his motor bike on the trails around the gamelands, i see no reason for him to lie. I also heard of one being shot off of Laurel Caverns road, again rumors...

Thanks for posting that shockwave.

I'm still waiting for the first real picture of lion in PA as well. With all the rumors you here about people seeing them, you figure there must be something to it. I know a lot of people that say there are no mountain lions and never will be, but to be honest I dont see why they wouldn't be here. At least a few. They were here once, all over the place, why couldn't they be here again?

All we need is someone to get a legit picture. wink.gif

Negative Matt. I'm 99% sure that is a cropped picture of a mountain lion trailing a mule deer....which is what is cropped out of this picture. If I'm right, that has been floating around the net for a couple years.

I gots all excited there for a minute too. laugh.gif

Yep, that was exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the pic. Definitely the same pic as the mountain lion that was fixed to look like it was trailing a deer. Last time it was posted in here has been in the past year.

Sorry....but this has been floating around the net for a couple of years now......from what I understand the cat photo is legit but originated in oregon.....the rest of the edits (photoshop jobs) that have been done to it, are not....including the cat following a muley, an elk...even sasquatch, LOL

and yes it was a mountain lion the DNR came out and confirmed the tracks....funny how they cover that stuff up though i wonder why theyre afraid to tell the public? anyways, because they covered it up no one ever believes us when we tell the story LOL
