Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread

Luke and I fished Texas creek up and down hoping to catch a nice Brown Trout. We saw lots of small ones swimming around, but Luke was the only one to catch a little guy, and let him go. I still don't believe him on that report...LOL grin.gif

I did see a nice one when we first got there, just below our camp-site, but I couldn't get him to bite either.

Here's some pics of Texas Creek

On Sunday, the weather was much better, so Luke and I went fishing down on the lake. We got there and saw some other hunters taking a break and catching some whoppers, but alas, we had the wrong gear. The other hunters must have felt sorry for us, because they hooked us both up with the secret ingredients, and we started getting fish too. I caught a nice rainbow, lost 2(one huge one) and was too busy talking to the other hunters and missed 5 nice strikes..LOL, but Luke caught 2 dandy rainbows.

I was too busy talking to take pictures, accept for a couple of Luke fishing. I think Scott got some pics of the fish though.

Talk about a breath-taking view eh. I never got tired of that. smile.gif

We were fishing over off that far point on the left.

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread

I'd like to be the first to thank Steve Bielgard for everything he has done and is still doing to make this trip a success. It was my pleasure and honour to finally meet this "mountain man". The guy knows his hunting and is fit as a fiddle, especially for an old fart.... grin.gif He put me to shame.

He's one heck of a guy, and my hat is off to him, not only for this hunt and all he has done, but just for being who he is. He's quite the prankster too smile.gif...gotta love that side of him...LOL

When I first met him, I couldn't believe the resemblance to my friend Dr. John Bindernagel (author of 'Sasquatch – North America’s Great Ape') grin.gif

I'd also like to commend and thank vermonthunter (Luke Greenia) for all the help in setting up camp and constantly cutting wood, fetching water...you name it, he was there. Your an awesome guy Luke, and it was a pleasure and an honour to meet you.

That's Luke, hiding his face behind the lamp..eh grin.gif That's snapper (Gregg) sitting in front and Erica (Charlie's daughter), standing in the rear

I think snapper is saying "You look at my food again, I'm gonna slap yo face"

I'd also like to thank Charlie for going out of his way to pick me up at the airport, and take me to Outdoor world for supper. The company and food was great, and I fell in love with that huge store. Charlie had to drag me out kicking and screaming. grin.gif It was like walking into a wildlife museum, with hunter candy all over the place. We just don't have anything even remotely like that up here.

The restaurant in there was awesome too.

To top it off, our waitress was also a bow-hunter, and offered to take our picture.

And last, but most certainly not least, Thank you Scott, for everything. If it wasn't for Realtree.com, you and everyone else, I'd never have gone on an adventure like this, so far from home. I still think that woman in the On-Star box lied to us. She took us into Denver the long way...I just know it ..LOL grin.gif

Here's the man that makes this website what it is.

Thanks buddy, it was great.

We were just getting ready to leave Denver and head out toward the mountains.

Thank you Steve and all the others. It was a great time. Luke has got to be one of the hardest working men I have ever met. He would never stop working around the camp.

OK, some more pics. This first one is Buckee taking all of the fishing glory (it's time to fess up old man!)

This next one is the results of that shoreside excursion!

And this one is "Find those mulies!" There are 4 mulies here that we spotted eating someone's flowers and bushes (in their front yard). Can you find all four? Buckee and I caught these guys on our way back to Denver in Buena Vista.
