kraabel2003
What have you guys been seeing? Here in sw wis the little bucks are pushing the does around. Did hear that a guy found two monsters locked up not to long ago. I have also been hearing of some bigger bucks chasing too. I did see about a 130 inch buck the other morning that wouldnt leave a doe. I stopped a watched him for about 5 min. I am thinking that the mornings are better then the evenings, what do you think? wtnhunt
Re: RUT REPORT Saw a deer make a scrape and thrach the limb overhanging on last Saturday pretty late in the morning. Tuesday afternoon watched some youngsters sparring. Things picked up here with the cooler weather, but afraid with the temps going back up around the 70's things will stall a bit. slickhunter
Re: RUT REPORT Things in New Jersey are heating up...........weather has been cold, saw a nice 8pt last night out on the prowl, did not take a shot as I'm waiting for his big brother who I have seen around in late summer. Bucks are making scrapes, seen bucks out in the fields checking out does till like 8:30am then back out around 5:30pm. Some good action going on, can't wait to get back in the woods. Tony
Re: RUT REPORT pre rut is getting cranked up pretty good here in south central iowa. bucks are coming to horns and grunts. mock scrapes are working good also. rut is about 2 full weeks away. bucks are ready as usuall, but the does arent. nows the time to be using rattling horns and calls. scent trails do also work this time of year. mock scrapes can get a lot of attention if bucks are crusing areas looking for hot does. bghunter777
Re: RUT REPORT Hunted fri - Wed saw a few young bucks interested in does. on wed eve saw a young 6 and a 2.5 year old I think 10 pt. acctually chasing. friday eve I saw an 11 pt prob 130 class and then monday I saw an 8pt that I would guess to be in the 140s. not chasing does but up on there feet moving around a solid hour before dark. those 2 bucks were the first shooter bucks I have seen since scouting before the season.
