My bank cost me my buck!

Well sort of anyways...

Here the deal.

I got a call late Monday evening from our bank insisting I call them back. Me specifically, not me or my wife. (???)

I instantly thought my pay check bounced or something since I am paid by a hand written check, once a month, so my checks are kinda large.

Anyways I try to call them but they were closed. So I had to call the next morning.

So now I am hunting morning 3 of a 3 day hunting week, my last of the year, and I had decided to just run home about 9am real quick to make the call, eat, crap, etc , then run back out hunting the remainder of the day. I live 1 mile away from my hunting property.

So, I get out of my box stand at 8:30am, which I have been hunting dark to dark for the last 3 days. Its been rainy, sleeting, and snow on and off the whole time.

(Nice to have a heated box stand...)

Once down, I decide to go way around and cut threw some slash and thicket that historically has held deer, then swing way out along the property boarder to check on some field edge sign.

About 20 minutes from the time I get out of the box stand I lokk back over the fields and I see a real nice buck trot right pass it. 8 or 9 points at least and huge rack.

I mean bow range close and its ML season. At this time I was over 300 yards away.

No way with this gun on a trotting deer.

I about cried.

For one I have seen this buck only once and that was a week before our rifle season. Then I was told it was shot by the game warden who lives right next to my property, then I told it was not the same buck by someone who had seen but bucks in question.

I had seen buck sign continue in my front field but have not seen him since that one day.

2nd, you just do NOT see a buck like this in VT. They exist but very rare to see one, VERY RARE, especially this late in the season.

I was trying for a doe and saw nothing for 3 days in an area that has 3 to 9 come out evey night...

3rd,I was just freakin sitting in the box stand 20 mintues earlier!!!!!!

I can believe it.

Oh and to make thing worse, or better depending on who you talk to, me or my wife, the bank was calling to ask about a late payment that we in fact had already made. Their mistake...

Go figure....

Dang bank...... mad.gif

Re: My bank cost me my buck!

Yea me too if I had one that worked still. Mines dead...

I actually told my wife to call them in the morning since I was not gonna be there, since its both our accounts.

But since they asked for just me she was thinking it was my pay check too, and would not know who else to call if that was in fact the issue.

We argued of coarse and I went hunting. smirk.gifgrin.gif

But I had the same worry and had to go make the call...

Possibly be ready to call TX where my boss lives and VA where the home office is to straighten out the pay check.

Good thing it was not my pay check...

Bad thing is a great buck got to walk 40 yards from the stand I was just in. AND I got to see it happen...

Re: My bank cost me my buck!

LOL

Unfortunatly we could not contact any of the local deer herds union representatives for comment.

The contract for them to go along with the sale or foreclosure of said property is still unresolved.

They are still free agents as of today talks....

However the land is not in foreclosure or for sale at this time so talks will continue to secure all deer members in their local union.

Talks seems hopefull at this time and lawyers expect a firm outlined plan by fall of 2005.

If they do not co-operate and adhere to said contracts, then we, by law, can kill them on sight...

LOL
