Would like to know if anyone shoots these slugs? What kind of accuracy are you getting and out of what gun. Performance on deer? Just bought a couple of boxes to try out. I am not sure but these slugs might be new to the scene or were they out last year? Thanks wasp

Re: hornady sst shotgun slugs

I took the new horday sst slugs to the range along with some lightfeild sabots,,, I shoot a 870 canlver rifle slug gun with a leupold 2-7 scope,, I could NOT get the sst to group very good, however my gun LOved the lightfeild sabots ,, It was pretty much putting holes on top of holes at 50yds and at 100 eaisly kepping them in 2 inch group... I never used the lighfeilds before this year so I cant tell u about preformace on deer ,, but for shooting good my 870 rem loves them mt 2 cents

Re: hornady sst shotgun slugs

They are like 2 years old ... around here last year we couldnt even get our hands on them ... this year our store has 15 cases ... this is a slug gun state (no rifle) so we tend to go through a bit more then most ... as far as the slug itself ... WOW ... they trully are acuarate out to 200 yards with a rifled barrel ... dont shoot through a smooth bore obviously ... now on the other hand the 20 gauge slugs numbers really stink compared to the 12 ... Remington Core Locks have a much better bullet in the 20 gauge ... and for the price ... Im not sure why you would want to shoot the 20 Hornady ... although we have a lot of ppl asking for them .. to each there own I guess
