I must say from my perspective that the Tigers collapsed, they pretty much gave it away with all the errors. Take nothing away from the Cards, they played great and kicked some Tiger tail. The tigers did not play well, but really it was kinda of just a matter of time, before those young guys fell apart. IMHO. But if they keep all those young guys around they will be good again next year and so on. And yes the tigers def was bad, but a little credit goes to the Cardinals pitchers, they did a great job of pitching by shutting the big guys down and pitching out of trouble. I think its great that a NATIONAL LEAGUE team won after all year so many thought the National League was so bad. Oh one more thing dId anyone see the great Bud Selig say David Ecksteins name wrong. Congrats to the cards and their fans...the Tigers beat themselves..this series could easily stil be going on if it weren't for the errors...they should have won the last 2 games. but coulda, woulda shoulda doesn't win championships. The pitching wasn't really bad at all...its the errors the pitchers made fielding...along with a few errors by other players. Tigers were clearly the better team going into the series...i think everone except the cardinal fans thought the tigers would take it...but, sometimes the better team doesn't win. It's disappointing but the way i see it is, the just opened the door for themselves to get a whole lot better by making it this far. some of the better players will actually think about signing with them now that they aren't sitting at the bottom. Give St. Louis credit, they took advantage of the errors, played smart ball and are World Champs. Maybe next year, you know what Leyland will be making them practice come spring training!!!
