unioncountyslayer
Re: Blood Tracking Flash Light My dad has the Gerber carnivore and finally got a chance to use it a couple weeks ago after sticking a doe on an afternoon hunt. Once he got down and it was dark, he got the light out and Nothing! I mean, it gave off enough light to see the blood, but it didn't do as advertised. Not worth the $50.00 according to dad. You decide.
Guest Oak
Re: Blood Tracking Flash Light My son downed a buck this weekend and the blood trail just vanished in the dark. I called around and could not find a Gerber available anywhere, but I did find a Winchester version. I purchased that and found it worked great for me. My Son and One of my brothers tried it and they could not see what I was seeing. I am color blind so anything that helps is great and for the first time I could lead the tracking! The blood just shined out for me. It must really depend on the person because I have read a lot of reviews both ways. I personally just ordered the Gerber since it has more LED lights and appears to be brighter!
Hoyt03
Re: Blood Tracking Flash Light saw this thing being advertised at dicks sporting goods this weekend and was wondering the same thing. I personally have never had a problem with just using my flashlight. If there is blood I will find it

[/ QUOTE ] Oak, I am colored blind also and have a hard time following a blood trail in the light and dark. Let us know how you like the Gerber light when you get it. I have seen the Winchester light at Walmart and was tempted to buy it. But I would like to know how you like the Gerber first. I did buy some "Tink's Starlight Bloodhound Blood Trailing Aid" but have not had a chance to try it yet. It is a two part spray that is suppost to turn the blood fluorescent blue. mule659
Re: Blood Tracking Flash Light I find using a light with a blue lense works really well for finding blood after dark. I personally use surefire lights.
Guest Oak
Re: Blood Tracking Flash Light This last week I trialed a deer in the dark with this and also used Hydrogen Peroxide sprayed. The combination worked great for me. I could really see the blood and in questionable areas a mist of peroxide worked well. How has the Tinks Starlight Bloodhound Tracking spray worked? Does it really "Glow" in the dark?
