Guest DaveGP
we dont own the property we hunt on and therefore cannot plant a food plot so we decided to buy a feeder to put out in the field to help attract more deer, they dont come off the neighbors property much when it is way bigger than the little bit we hunt on and has more hardwoods. so the feeder will be about 200 yards from my standsite, my question is for those with a feeder how many times a day do you run it and for how long each time, and how long does it last for what you put out? thanks, dave
Guest jbhunter
Re: feeders In Texas we have two feeders that are timed to spin at dawn and dusk. Thats approximate. We have the really big barrels that hold a ton of corn(not literaly a ton) and last a while. I think it spins for about 10 sec. each time and it works real good. ousoonerfan22
Re: feeders I have a 55 gallon plastic barrel with a Moultree feeder chained and locked to a large tree limb on my uncles property,I have a 30 gallon plastic barrel with a moultree in a tree on my brother-in-laws property.I have the feeders going off for 2-3 seconds at 6:00am,4:30pm and 6:00pm,I need to move them back an hour now. When the acorns are gone I'll have the feeders run a couple of seconds longer. I usually change the rechargable batteries and add corn once a month but I could probably just add corn every other month.
