Bob LeBlanc
Re: rock question They are probably inukashuk...which is a traditional inuit means of marking areas they have passed through. A lot of people grabbed on the idea after a commercial that ran up here a few years ago where an innu gentlemen described when asked 'why?'..."so they know we were here." Traditionally, it is believed they were used on the tundra as hiding points when hunting caribou, but they are also somewhat similar in shape to a man, thus making the caribou less wary of man's form. Now-a-days, people build them when they travel through an area they have never seen before. Bob
