Re: Suggestions/Opinions on Mossberg .243???

I havent heard good things about they Mossberg Rifles. I love their shotguns but im afraid the rifles lack a little (or so ive heard).

Yes I have special ordered rifles through them and with little troubles. IMHO I would save the extra money and get something more along the lines of a savage.

In all honesty im sure the mossberg rifle will get the job done but you can probably pick up a good used rifle in a pawn shop for just a fuzz more.

Re: Mossberg .243???

I've heard really bad things about the Mossgerg ATR 100 from people who don't own them. I've talked with a few people own them and they have been very pleased. One guy had one in 270 and was at the sporting goods counter ordering a 243, 30-06 and another 270 for family. He said the one he had shot about 1moa, had a very good trigger, was reliable and he didn't have to worry about scratching the finish like he did on his wetherby.

From what I've heard, people that own them say they are a very good no frills utility gun, with good accuracy and performance for a very low price.

If you want one that's even more accurate for a lower price look at the NEF guns. I've got 2 (one in 243) that shoots sub moa with winchester superX and rem core-lokd.

Gun Test Mag wrote a decent article on the ATR a couple of months ago. I would try to get a copy or read it on line. If I remember correctly, the conclusions were decent.
