Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: rain and movement? Deer will move sometimes during the rain, but one of my favorite times to be out is when it stops raining. Even if it's just a 30 minute break between showers, I usually see a lot of deer movement. If it's not pouring, I usually put on the gore tex and get after it!
FullStrutter
Re: rain and movement? a lot of big buck hunters would say the best time to hunt is in the rain. the old adage goes something like "the more miserable it is for humans, the more the deer like it"

drkillemquick
Re: rain and movement? Can't shoot them from home. this time of year there isn't a bad day to go out in my opinion. You might not see as many deer and they might stay closer to their security cover. But they will still be moving! As soon as it stops they will be right out to check on scrapes etc! Doc
Re: rain and movement? The only concern that I have with rain is the ability to maintain a good visible blood trail on a marginally hit deer. Blood trails can be tricky under ideal conditions. Having the rain diluting and washing away the blood is not really all that helpful. Doc
bigbuckkilla89
Re: rain and movement? I got got out a my stand at dark. It didnt rain very much but the wind was blowin really bad. I only saw one little 6 point. David

rhine16
Re: rain and movement? Only problem would be rain washing your blood trail away
wtnhunt
Re: rain and movement? Yep, have had good luck with light rains and drizzle. Hoping to get out for a bit here this afternoon. Still misting this morning and the temps are dropping. Deer will be moving good.
Stinger-Hunter
Re: rain and movement? if it is raining a little bit I would be out. Pouring rain isn't worth it. Remember that bucks refresh their scrapes after it stops raining so it there is a time that the weather man says the rain should be stopping, pick out a good scrape and get ready. Those bucks need their scrapes smelling as strong as possible. The rain waters it down and they get after em as soon as it stops - day or night.
