OUTSIDER
Why in the world do so many of you dislike mossy oak?? Mossy Joke... whatever you call it. I just dont understand it. Its good camo, in many situations better than realtree. I guess because this is a realtree site is why yall talk a little smack. I just wondered, i really like it here in WV where i hunt, i seem to become invisible when ground hunting and sit with a big ole oak behind me. drkillemquick
Re: Mossy Oak.... I don't mind some of the mossy oak, and I do own some, but definetly prefer realtree! I quess being on a 'Realtree' site you have to expect some Mossy Joke joke's.
johnf
Re: Mossy Oak.... I don't know if it's everywhere, but around here most of the Mossy Oak patterns are very dark and I feel that at a distance that turns you into a dark human-shaped blob. The realtree hardwoods that I normally wear has a lot more light colors than the MO that you find around here and I feel like the higher contrast better suits this area for blending into the surroundings. wtnhunt
Re: Mossy Oak.... Personally have nothing against the pattern myself, and have some mossy oak break up and mossy oak new breakup clothes. Have had good success and have gone unseen wearing it too. For here though honestly I think that advantage timber is the most effective all around pattern there is and that is all I buy anymore. But maybe thats just with the conditions Im in
Hoyt03
Re: Mossy Oak.... I actually really like MO just as much or maybe more the RT. I am on this site for my passion for hunting, not for a camo pattern
lil hunter
Re: Mossy Oak.... I don't really have anything against MO camo or the makers of it, but it's still fun to make jokes about it, since we are on a realtree site. I do like realtree camo better though. rifleman25
Re: Mossy Oak.... Since I couldn't buy the new Advantage max 1 camo I bought a bunch of Mossy oak brush. I have no problem with Mossy Oak.

Mach1
Re: Mossy Oak.... In my hunting area it doesn't blend in as well as RT Hardwoods and Advantage Timber. Therefore I stay away from it.

[/ QUOTE ] have to remember where you are, your on a Realtree site with Realtee camo being the dominant pattern. I am sure there are some on Mossy Oak's site that don't like Realtree camo, just personal preference and to me the pattern seems to dark for my area. Its sometimes good in the early spring but I prefer Realtree over all the others!!

hunterfisherman
Re: Mossy Oak.... I have no problem with it. I owe several pieces. I do prefer RT but no problem with MO. It's probably the same reason Hoyt owners bash Mathews and vice versa. Product loyalty
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Mossy Oak.... I have both camo's and love both for different reasons. I tend to come to this site because of the people and not so much the camo. The conversation here is much more broad and interesting. IMO Sorry to anyone who likes the MO Forums. It's the members that create the interesting forum, not who it's run by.
mule659
Re: Mossy Oak.... I am not a mossy oak fan myself. In my area advantage timber works best most of the time but in some cases I pull out the hardwoods. But honestly you dont even need camo if you sit still. I have hunted in jeans and a t-shirt many times and seen just as many deer that had no idea I was there...camo just looks cool I guess lol

[ QUOTE ] I am on this site for my passion for hunting, not for a camo pattern [/ QUOTE ] Thats what it is all about right there!!! Although, I do prefer RT over the MO. But at this time I have about a 50/50 split between the two. But like others have said, I feel MO is a little too dark.
struttinhoyt
Re: Mossy Oak.... The pattern is kewl and all but where I hunt Realtree Hardwoods has thoughs lighter colors in it that makes me just blend in.... thats just my opion...... Strut10
Re: Mossy Oak.... I wouldn't say I "dislike" MO...............it's never done anything to me. However, where I hunt, it's waaaaay to dark. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Realtree Hardwoods just plumb disappears where I'm at. Soooooo............ Bownarow
Re: Mossy Oak.... I liked the old Mossy Oak stuff, but the new stuff seems very very dark to me. Not that it's bad or doesn't work, it's just not my preference. My first piece of camo ever was a pair of mossy oak coveralls. I still have those things and think the old pattern on them is great.
